Time flies!
It's been nearly 2 months since I last posted some info about Chapter One! Time flies doesn't it, I think it's time for a little development update! ; )
For starters I got some good news and I got some kinda bad news. Let me explain both of them for you!
The good news:
The good news is, for the past 2 months I have been cooking up some really interesting cutscenes and graphics! Give 'em a look! (Note that everything you see is subject to change in the final version!)
Darn, it seems Sheldon gave the wrong answer, I can only imagine what the question was?
A wholesome talk before the true horrors happen, how lovely ^-^
After a challenging day at school, Sheldon decides to head home (even though he slept through the entire school day...)
A quiet look at the moon, it's the little things in life you come to admire! (I'm really proud of how well I drew that moon, hopefully nobody comes to 'make an announcement')
What's this? New enemies???? I wonder what'll happen! Can't show too much, not yet at least ;)
The kinda bad news:
With the progress of the game overall, Chapter One is coming along pretty nicely, it's still quite far from being finished, lots of things like graphics, dialogue, music and cutscenes still need to get done, the final boss is still stuck in concept purgatory where it's a good idea on paper, but not a good idea in game, so settling with who the big bad of Chapter One will be can be tricky as I want to make their final boss battle something really interesting.
My thought's
With it being just me working on this game, I want this game to be made with love and care, so this game will take time, as no one likes a rushed, buggy and poorly written game. But a 2025 release is still possible, however, I can't make any promises and a delay to 2026 is a possibility, but no longer than that! If I feel like my game isn't ready for 2025, the game will be delayed to 2026 and I will inform you all about the delay. The reason I am saying this is because unfortunately, I am not a full-time game developer and I don't work on this game all the time. I am often working everyday in my real-life job, which takes up almost all my time in the day, so whenever I get the rare chance I work on this game in my free time, I take it. Just thought I'd cover that up!
Aaannnndddd that's it for this announcement! Hopefully I can show you more in the future! I'm working on some art for a few more areas but they're not finished yet, but I can't wait to show you all! Before I go, I wanna let you all know that Chapter Two has entered the concept phase, and the concept art and scripting is coming along nicely! Only a matter of time before I start yapping about that ; )
See you all in the next Steam announcement!!
