Dev Diary #1 - March 2, 2015

Starting today, we will propose you a new weekly “rendez-vous” : Dev Diaries.
Posted on mondays, these articles are meant to let you know what we are working on and discuss it with you. We want both to give you a clear visibility of the dev process and encourage your feedbacks on previous or upcoming features. We hope you will like it this way!

What’s coming?

We are currently polishing the Attributes and the Terms Editors. Both should be released this week.

Your feedbacks have been precious for this two editors. Based on your comments, we carefully reviewed our plans concerning Athletics, Swimming and flight. These features are not directly related to the Attributes Editors but it was very important to work on how we will integrate them later in full compliance with it.

Concerning the Terms Editor, Keluvar made some very interresting suggestions. We used them to expand the scope of this editor on world background, mythology, magic and technology. Even if these informations do not have a direct impact in game, we believe they are important for your players’ immersion.

What’s Next?

Once the Attributes and Terms will be released, we will pay attention to your feedbacks and try to respond quickly if any improvement is possible. But the main next step will be our work on an important feature: the States Editor.

The States Editor allows you to define the effects indured by the creatures populating your world. This is for instance the poison, blessing, speed up or slow downs effects. And many more of course.

These states are displayed as Buff/Debuff icons on the character or the target Hud. Once again we paid attention to your feedbacks in this forum thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/329890/discussions/0/618453594744774865.
It allowed us to confirm that what we are planning matches up your expectations. That’s always great to know!

The States Editor is very important as it will be released with the Features Editor. Features editor will define the details of your effects. It will allow you to define the character speed or the loss/gain of HP, changes of Stats for instance.
Only the State Editor will be directly accessible through the tool bar. The features editor will be accessible as a secondary tool of several editors, including the States Editor.

What say you?

The discussion about the States Editor has already been very productive. But it is still the time to give your feedbacks and suggestions about what you expect for your RPG on that matter.

Remember this is what our Alpha is for : provide you the exact tool you expect!
Thank you for all your feedbacks !
