Hey Guildmasters!
💻 Development update:
A lot of August was about making the simulation easier to read: showing more clearly who is affected, why something is happening, and what your choices are actually changing.
QuestBoard improvements: Quest positioning is now implemented as a proper “quest marketing” mechanic, giving you more ways to influence which adventurers are interested in a quest. I’m also improving the quest-posting interface so the information behind those choices is easier to understand and use.
More individual adventurers: adventurer sprites and the new information panel are now used across more scenes. Traits, needs, grievances, progression and decisions can be tied much more clearly to specific adventurers instead of mostly appearing as aggregate numbers.
Report & Evening rework: both scenes received substantial visual and readability improvements. Quest consequences such as injuries, equipment wear, income and Faction Agenda progress are easier to connect to the adventurers involved, while Evening makes services, shortages and individual needs much clearer.
World state & guild politics: I added a first pass for surfacing more of the evolving world state directly to the player. I’m also connecting the existing Faction Agenda and political simulation to interactive elements, so it becomes clearer how your decisions can influence things beyond an individual quest.
Save system: the new save/load system is now implemented and tested. It currently uses quicksaves, with the foundations for manual saves already in place.
You may also have noticed that the Steam page has had a substantial refresh, with updated descriptions and new screenshots of the current QuestBoard, Evening and Report scenes. It should now do a much better job of showing what the game has become (but expect even more polish, animations, new scenes in the upcoming months!).
As always, thanks for following and supporting the project!
And remember to wishlist and follow on socials (will resume posting there soon) if you haven’t already, it helps a lot!
