Greetings, pilots!
It was tough, but I finally finished it! Update 0.9.0 includes a ton of really cool, really important, and long-awaited changes. Buckle up — there's a lot to talk about!
🛠️ Drone Editor
The main highlight: the game now features a drone editor! You can now create your own drone variations by combining frames, cameras, motors, propellers, and warheads.
Every change affects the drone's characteristics: motors and propellers determine thrust and speed, while the camera defines the image quality the pilot sees. Motors can also be mounted in a coaxial configuration — this significantly increases thrust, but noticeably raises battery drain and reduces drone stability.
The drone is powered by an "E-Drone" battery — a name known to practically every Ukrainian pilot!
💥 New warhead — Explosively Formed Penetrator
A new warhead has been added — the Explosively Formed Penetrator! When used correctly, this type of munition can pierce anti-cumulative screens and add-on equipment, dealing full damage to vehicles while ignoring cage armor ("mangals")!
To enable the EFP to work properly, an air-burst detonation feature has been added.
⚡ One-click drone loadouts
No more lengthy drone selection before missions! Pilots can create their own drone sets and pick them with a single click before starting! This will become especially relevant after interceptors and bombers are added in future updates!
🌦️ New weather system & updated lighting
A new weather system has been added and the lighting has been reworked! You can now precisely configure mission time and weather conditions: clouds, fog, rain, thunderstorms, wind and its gusts — everything can be tuned exactly how the pilot wants!
And of course, the weather affects the drone and the pilot's work — fog significantly limits visibility, while wind noticeably pushes the drone off course!
⚙️ Reworked settings
The settings menu received many more parameters, and most importantly — issues that had haunted Remote Reaper since its earliest days have been fixed. In addition, interface sounds and visual effects have been added!
🌍 Expanded localization — 7 languages!
The simulator is now available in 7 languages: Ukrainian, English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese! I'll definitely expand this list in the future!
📋 Other changes:
Added the ability to save mission parameter settings as templates
Added the ability to join multiplayer sessions that are already in progress
Fixed a crash when a drone exploded in multiplayer — it can no longer be reproduced under test conditions
A major cleanup of unused content was performed: the build size has been reduced by 2.5 times! The build now takes up less than 4.5 GB (compared to 11 GB in the previous version)
Thank you for your support!
You help make Remote Reaper: FPV Drone better!
