Howdy, Rancherssssss!
In this edition of Ssssssslithering Digessssssst we want to talk about an important announcement coming on December! A very exciting news!! We are also talking a bit more about the encyclopedia here and some things in the full game.
Upcoming Announcement
We are very excited for December! In the beginning of the month we will announce the release date of Scaling Up! As some may have noticed from the Steam Page, we have pushed the released date to 2026. After thorough consideration, we believe 2025 was not the best time to release Scaling Up, so we could have more time for testing and polish before the game finally comes out. The development is going great so far and this extra time will be very beneficial for the game itself.
Keep an eye on the next post in December for the announcement of the Release Date!!
And now to continue with more information about the Encyclopedia and other features of the game.
Encyclopedia - Artifacts
As we mentioned previously, the Encyclopedia is a feature in-game that will record Insects and Fishes collect during any playthrough. It is a system that is independent of the save, so it can record Insects and Fishes that are from different areas, saving them in the overall game.
Another feature of the Encyclopedia that will be int he final game is the addition of the Artifacts!
Artifacts are items found through various means throughout the game that give permanent effects to the Ranch, unlocks new Ranches and even Dragon Species!
Some of the effects that are available through Artifacts are: extra experience gain, chance to collect extra resources, improves affinity gain for Snakes, and other effects! These carry over between Ranches, which will make progress faster when starting out and through the operations in a ranch.
New Ranches and Dragon Species will also be unlocked with the Artifacts. Each Ranch has its own special features and sometimes unique weathers, as well as certain materials available early on when expanding operations.

As for Dragon Species, each new species has its own advantages and disadvantages in comparison with the initial Dragon. Find the one that works best to start your new Ranch later as you unlock new ones!
