Howdy, Folks!
Hope your gear is holding up and your filters are clear. I wanted to drop a quick update, and pull back the curtain, on what I’m currently tinkering with on the workbench. While the wasteland is never truly "clean," I’m making sure the tools you use to scrub it down are sharper than ever.
High-Visibility Grime
The current cleaning highlight has served its purpose, but let’s be honest: some of that dirt loves to play hide-and-seek against the background environment. To save your eyes (and your sanity), I’ve completely overhauled the cleaning highlight system. The new tech makes objects and surface grime pop with much higher contrast.
A Smarter HUD for the Hardworking Cleaner
As I’ve teased before, the new in-game menu is officially taking shape. My goal here is total clarity; the menu now provides a detailed breakdown of level progression so you know exactly what's left to hit 100%.
This interface will also serve as the future hub for Player Upgrades. I’m keeping the details on those enhancements under wraps for a separate article. This interface is still very much a work in progress so various changes may occur before release.
Under the Hood: The Deep Clean
Breaking down the different cleaning categories for the new menu required me to roll up my sleeves and dive into the level data architecture. While I was down there, I took the opportunity to perform some digital maintenance by streamlining how the game remembers progress to ensure everything stays stable. I’m also taking the time to clean up the "code grime" in the save game logic and back-end systems to make future updates smoother and faster.
Thanks for all the incredible feedback and support! This was just a quick look at the immediate tasks on my list. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming deep dives into the Roadmap, the Upgrade System, and the next Content Update.
Until then, keep those nozzles pressurized.
