📢[Call for Intel] Help Us Shape the Chinese Localization!

Greetings, Agents!

First of all, we would like to sincerely thank you for your deep interest and for sharing such insightful questions regarding our character descriptions.

Before we dive into our philosophy, we’d like to share a small bit of our reality with you. Team MoonSun is a small indie team, and every one of our members is currently working other day jobs to make a living. Because we are balancing our passion for Eclipse with our daily livelihoods, we may not be able to reply to every comment or provide answers as quickly as we would like.

We kindly ask for your generous understanding of our situation. Please know that we are doing our absolute best within our capacity to make Eclipse the best experience it can be. We are always deeply grateful for your patience and support.

🌟 Our Localization Philosophy

In Eclipse, we have meticulously built a world centered on the autonomy and strength of women. To remain true to this vision, we believe our localization must go beyond simple translation—it must challenge the historical prejudices embedded in the very characters (Hanzi) we use.

We have tried to avoid certain traditional Hanzi that carry roots of misogyny or female suppression. We want the names of our characters to reflect their true power.

To be honest, we are a small indie team, not professional linguists. While we are doing our absolute best to find alternatives that align with our philosophy, if we ultimately cannot find a suitable substitute, we will use conventional characters.

However, we firmly believe that the core message of Eclipse—the autonomy and strength of women in The Land of Solar—is carried by our characters' lives, their choices, and the journey they take. A single character cannot diminish the spirit of the story we have built. We hope you see our search for new names as a sincere effort to honor our characters, but the true heart of Eclipse will always remain in the narrative itself.

🛡️ We Need Your Expertise, Agents!

We are looking for Hanzi that represent strength, peace, brilliance, and leadership without these historical shackles. If you are a native speaker or a linguistics enthusiast, please suggest characters that fit the spirit of our characters and the majestic atmosphere of The Land of Solar.

Let’s create a new linguistic standard that honors the women of Eclipse. We look forward to your insightful suggestions in the comments below.

🛡️First, we want to thank you for the incredible energy and diverse opinions shared here. It's clear how much you care about the future of Eclipse. However, we would like to gently remind everyone that this thread is dedicated to "Character Name Suggestions" for our Chinese localization. To maintain the efficiency of this process:

1. No further official replies or comments will be posted by the development team in this thread.

2. All naming ideas will be carefully reviewed until January 31st.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us find the perfect names for our characters!

Glory to Eclipse! ⚜️
