Hello, this is the Dicey Tales development team.
Combat in Dicey Tales is designed as a turn-based tactical puzzle. For this reason, most monsters have traditionally been given relatively high mobility.
However, due to recent updates:
- Movement has become more difficult to secure (e.g., reduced number of movement dice faces)
- We aim to improve strategic diversity, including better utilization of positioning.
We are currently rebalancing monster movement values and their initial placements accordingly.

After Adjustment
Excessively limiting movement could lead to a situation where players can easily evade all threats with just a few movement dice, potentially making combat less strategic and more monotonous. We are carefully tuning unreasonable patterns while ensuring players can gain strategic advantages through positioning and formation.
We are also working to enrich the tactical experience by introducing more varied obstacles and shifting patterns on a per-turn basis, all while maintaining the puzzle-like essence of combat.
Additionally, monsters with area attacks are being updated to avoid repetitive AoE use every turn. Each monster will gradually gain its own unique pattern to create more dynamic and engaging battles.
Your feedback is always a great help.
