🏆 Tezcatlipoca V 1.035 – Speedrun Contest
Hello, dear players! With this update comes a very important change: Tezcatlipoca now has a timer! And with it… the first official Tezcatlipoca Speedrun Contest is now open!
What is the contest about?
The goal is simple:
Get ending E on the hardest difficulty in the shortest possible time.
Deaths don’t matter, so you can die as many times as you want.
How to participate?
Record your run in one single video.
The video must start from a new game and end when you reach the final scene of the game.
Upload your video to YouTube.
Share the link on the official Tezcatlipoca forums.
Deadline: October 31, 2025 🎃 Happy Halloween!
Prizes
The top 3 players will be immortalized in the game:
Their names will appear in the official achievements with gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Each winner will also receive an extra copy of Tezcatlipoca to gift to a friend.
There will also be special categories for endings A, B, C, and D, on any difficulty:
Each ending will have a Top 3.
Winners of each category will also have their names written on the corresponding achievement.
How does the timer work?
The timer is integrated into Minerva.
The time runs in any scene where the player has control.
This includes:
Normal gameplay
Puzzles
Save screens
The time does not run during:
Flashbacks
Monster stories
Pause menu (only exception)
⚠️ If you notice the timer not running in a puzzle or situation where it should, please report it.

New Puzzle – Residential Area
A new puzzle has been added to access the residential area.
If you are playing with an older save and decide to leave this area, you will need to solve the puzzle to re-enter.
How the puzzle works:
The goal is to obtain a resident ID by entering information about the inhabitants.
There are two possible solutions in my design, but if the puzzle feels too confusing, don’t hesitate to let me know!
Changes to the entrance of the residential area:
The entrance now has a physical door. No more crawling to get through!
This change alters the flow of the game, forcing the player to visit the cemetery first before continuing the story.
Why this change?
I liked leaving the city open for free exploration, but I realized:
Without a clear direction, the experience could feel boring or confusing.
Arriving at the residential area and not finding Becky until later could be tedious.
Blocking this area and requiring the puzzle ensures that the player explores the other zone first, making the direction clearer and improving story progression.
