Greetings, Shinobi.
The Hidden Village has been quiet on Steam. The forge never stopped burning.
It has been months since our last community post. What happened in that silence was not a slowdown — it was the most important period in the history of this game. This post covers everything since December.
THE FOUNDATION — CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE
This was the mountain. Everything else was built on top of it.
Your character, your items, your progress — none of it used to follow you. It lived on your machine. That era is over.
Shinobi Unleashed is now fully server-side authoritative. Every item you buy, sell, craft, mine, loot, or equip is verified and saved to Microsoft's data centers in real time. Log in from any PC. Your legacy is waiting exactly where you left it.
- Cloud Login System — Your account now lives in the cloud. No more progress tied to a single machine.
- Cloud Inventory — Every item in your bags is real, persistent, and tied to your account permanently.
- Equipment Persistence — Log out with your Jinsoku Blade equipped. Log back in with it still in your hand.
- Inventory Slot Positions — Your bag layout saves across all three tabs with accurate item counts.
- Vendor Sync — Every purchase and sale is processed and verified server-side.
- Crafting Sync — Everything you craft is recorded in the data center.
- Currency System Rebuilt — Gold, Silver, and Copper now calculate correctly across every transaction.
- Duplication Exploit Patched — The item duplication exploit that was active in the live build is permanently closed. The economy is protected.
THE WORLD IS ALIVE
0.4.28 — A Living World
A full wildlife ecosystem is live — Bears, Wolves, Boars, Eagles, Mackerel, Cows, and Chickens now inhabit the world, each with real persistent drop tables feeding into the crafting economy. Enemy loot drops were fixed. Dual Kunai wielding was added. Rogue Shinobi are more dangerous and reward more XP. New NPCs scattered across the map. Jutsu previews now visible inside the Skill Tree.
0.4.29 — B-Rank Missions & Identity
B-Rank Kage missions are live. Hand Sign weaving added to jutsu activation. Black male and female character models added to the character creator — every player can now see themselves in the Land of Shinobi.
0.4.30 — Visceral Combat & Elemental Mastery
Your chakra nature selection at character creation now gives you your starter jutsu immediately. New jutsus added: Wind Style Tornado, Ice Style Prison, Water Style Arrow, Water Style Bullet. Earth Style Spikes and Walls dropped to E-Rank. Summoning Seal visuals overhauled. Camera shakes added for high-impact moments.
THE NINJA INFO CARD
A persistent profile card, powered by the cloud. Global session data, avatar URLs, player stats — all live and synced.
THE WORLD LOOKS DIFFERENT
- Lighting overhaul — Volumetric fog, god rays, light shaft bloom, and atmospheric depth tuned across the entire world.
- Dynamic time of day — The Land of Shinobi breathes. The sky changes. Day becomes night.
- Dragon — A dragon now roams the world with fire breath, directional movement, footstep camera shake, and full AI. It is not a placeholder. It is hunting you.
- Kage Office interior — The seat of power has a fully built interior. Go see it.
FIXES
- Black race equipment bug resolved — all races can now equip all items correctly
- Animal XP rebalanced across the board
- Pause menu and UI overhauled throughout
- Microsoft PlayFab platform outage — fully resolved, systems stable
KNOWN LIMITATION
Equipping stacked items: If you have a stack of the same item (e.g. 12 Anbu Masks), you cannot equip directly from the stack. Drop one, pick it back up as a single item, then equip it. Automating this split is in development.
Saving inventory layout: Equipment and pickups save automatically. If you manually move items around to organize your bags, open the P-menu and save or it will revert on login.
WHAT IS COMING
- Jutsu updates and rebalancing
- Stack equip automation
- XP, levels, and jutsu points synced to the cloud
- Kage Tournament — monthly PvP, village leadership, player-governed power
"The difference between a legend and a failure is one more attempt."
The village was never abandoned. It was being built into something worthy of you.
We will see you in the Land of Shinobi.
