Hello warriors!
New update is live, and this week we focused on improving many of the game’s balance aspects, such as archery build, Leatherworking processes and… piercing several invaders with the ballista’s bolts! There are also many Quality of Life improvements and fixes to reported bugs. Check this update on your own and see you in battle!
Changelog v.0.8.7.7
Abilities Update:
We’ve updated some of the abilities, making the least popular ones – sometimes the difference was about 10x – more attractive in order to increase a variety of viable builds. We also wanted to make the archer build clearly visible, easier to follow and more efficient in the mid-game, but without disturbing the end-game balance. We know that it wasn’t clear for some of the newer players which abilities should they pick to progress as the archers – now it’ll be much easier with the recent tweaks. At the same time, the archer build is more specialized now: if you want to play as a dedicated archer, it will be more viable now, but it’s harder to become a heavily-armoured bowman which can be out of balance in some situations. Tweaks made to the abilities:
– Bleeding – renamed to Marksman, added new effect: reducing the bows’ powerbar loading time by 0.15 second per level of the ability and further 0.15 second at level 5
– Reduced the default bow’s powerbar loading speed, though with maxed Marskman ability it’s faster than before
– Butcher – renamed to Huntsman, added new effect: the full powerbar remains longer when using bows for 0,01 second per level and further 0.1 second at level 10
– Dirty Fighting – added new effect: headshot damage increased by 1% per level and further 10% at level 10
– Reduced the base headshot damage modifier from 160% to 140% to counterbalance the Dirty Fighting bonus
– Bullseye – amount of headshots required to trigger the effect reduced from 5 to 3
– You Shall Not Pass – increased the shield’s resistance cost reduction gained at level 10 from 10% to 15%
– Awareness – received backstab damage additionally decreased by 5% at level 10
– Precision – amount of successful attacks required to trigger the effect reduced from 5 to 3
– Last Stand – additional shield’s resistance at level 10 being regenerated after triggering the effect increased from 10% to 20%
– Battle Rage – effect time increased from 10 to 15 seconds, HP threshold required to trigger the effect changed from 40% to 60%
– Added activating the attack cooldown to cleave attacks blocked by 2nd or 3rd target in response to the Community concerns
– Fixed an issue causing that melee attacks were slowing the players down despite them having the Survival Instinct ability
Leatherworking Update:
– Removed unnecessary steps of the Leatherworking processes, which were only used to process one material into another, in order to make the entire Leatherworking profession more enjoyable
– Improved balance of the Leatherworking processes, amount of required materials and specific materials required in recipes of each nation
– Updated the leathers tanning recipes’ levels in order to make them more balanced in tiers and to fill the progression gaps (steps where levelling was harder because of lack of recipes dedicated for given level)
– Updated the Leatherworking materials, replacing 34 hides/skins with tiered 4 raw types of leather and 4 tanned types of leather, and updated the leathers tanning recipes’ distribution in the vendors assortment:
Tier 4 – Thin Leather, known from beginning
Tier 3 – Leather, known from beginning
Tier 2 – Thick Leather, available from vendor in the capital city
Tier 1 – Beast Leather, available from vendor in the top locations (Lord’s Wrath Abbey, Lordly Haven, Hordun Temple) and towns in the central parts of each link (Tenebrok, Rodrock Fort, Greenport, Scarsdale, Seaclaw, Ulfgard)
– Removed the leathers tanning recipes from the NPC loot in order to make them obtainable in more clear way
– Updated the leathers tanning recipes’ prices in order to make them more valuable
– Simplified the Small Sack recipe in order to let players get into the Leatherworking easier
– Added the Small Sack recipe to the base of recipes known by each character
– Updated the bags’ recipes in order to make the low-level bags easier to make and the top one harder and more valuable
– Updated the shields recipes’ levels in order to balance their material requirements and earned experience
– Removed the Flax Fibers, which already weren’t being used for long time, from the game, giving 5 Flax Threads in exchange for each piece of Flax Fibers
– Scaled down the amount of carcasses parts obtained from each animal and updated the recipes’ requirements accordingly
Balance Improvements:
– Updated the ballista’s mechanics – from now on, its’ projectile goes through targets, damaging each enemy on its’ way, so it’s now more useful in defending locations
– Slightly reduced the number of points generated by the central flag in the Valley of Death PVP tournament in order to make more tactics efficient
– Changed position of Rodrock Lumbermill and Rodrock Farm – Rodrock Fort was the only location in the central area of a link which had all minor flags placed towards the closest nation’s capital city, this change was done in order to balance it
– Moved a New resource node appearing in the current position of the Rodrock Mine to new place right between Rodrock Fort and Tenebrok
