Hello Islet Defenders! 🏝️
We hope you're all having a wonderful day, protecting the kingdom and holding the castle!
We wanted to share that we’re currently working on making Islets Defense run smoothly on the Steam Deck, and alongside that, we're adding full controller support! 🎮
Now, while this might sound like a simple task, it’s actually a bit tricky. Our game has a lot of mouse interactions that don’t easily translate to a controller, like hovering over currencies to read their descriptions, or placing buildings on a big grid. And since we’re just a team of three, we want to take our time and do it right, instead of dropping in a clunky “virtual mouse” solution.
Now that the big round of launch bugfixes is behind us, we’ll be shifting full focus to this task. Our current goal is to wrap it up by late July or early August, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes!
That’s it for this short dev update, we hope you’re all enjoying your time defending your tiny islands. And hey, don’t forget to join our Discord to share your scores and chat with other defenders! It’s been super fun seeing a bit of friendly competition spark up there. 🔥
Thanks so much for reading, and have a great day!
