Hey! Now that the Next Fest has started, we will be posting a daily newsletter for a week for the new players. The plan is to talk about different features in the game so you can discover every mechanic and curiosity of the game!
Take a look, or you will miss plenty of useful tips to destroy your friends in Roombattle!
Restaurant Theme
The vacuums told us they were a bit tired of eating books, game controllers, and papers; that’s why we made 3 restaurant maps, and we are working on a 4th. The vacuums are so happy now since they have tasted sushi! But sushi is not the only remarkable thing; let’s see which new mechanics are coming with these new maps…
Dishwasher: Whenever you hit it, it throws a plate at an incredibly fast speed; you really don’t want to get hit by one of those.
Fridge: If you collide with it, its doors will open and let go a burst of very cold air; whoever gets frozen will receive a slowdown.
Oven: Can be activated only once, but let someone hit it and… BOOM! A huge smoke cloud will appear; who knows what can happen inside…
Extractor: Every few seconds it activates and sucks up everything that is near; if you think about it, it’s like a huge vacuum.
Ramen Pot: You can collide with it to spill it on the floor so the other vacuums can try some delicious ramen! (It's not that delicious; in fact, it slows you down.)
As you can see, Restaurant is one of the more chaotic maps because it has the most interactable features, and in case you haven’t noticed, every interactable has a little yellow indicator near it (our artist is a Resident Evil fan), so it’s easier to identify where they are!
The Office
Office maps aren’t a new implementation, but for those who haven’t played RoomBattle a lot, let’s also explain which mechanics you can use in these maps.
Vents: I mean, if you have played any other game, you should know that vent = teleport, so…
Window: You can one-shot with this! By pushing a vacuum out of the building, you will destroy it instantly. The number of balloons doesn’t matter if you fall from a 13th floor…
Printer: Not the most lethal machine in the game, but it’s fun to hit it and see how it starts rotating and throwing papers. Still, my favorite thing is the sound it makes; it’s like, “Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.”
Water Dispenser: Breaking stuff is cool, but it’s even cooler when it has something inside. That's why there's a big water tank in every office; collide with it to break it and leave a puddle on the floor to slow down other vacuums.
An office doesn’t need to be boring to be an office; by playing this map, you will prove it!
