◎ Overview
*ZOMVIRUS* is a first-person zombie apocalypse survival action game set in Seoul, South Korea. Players start in a quarantined zone filled with zombies and journey toward their designated safe area, encountering various storylines along the way.
◎ Genre
*ZOMVIRUS* is a VR-exclusive, PvE-focused zombie apocalypse survival action game. As the lone survivor in a zombie-ravaged Hongdae, players must use available weapons and supplies to escape the quarantined zone.
◎ Core Fun
The core thrill of the game lies in surviving among powerful and fast-paced, algorithm-driven Korean zombies by utilizing weapons and supplies to make it out alive.
◎ Features
Unlike other similar games, *ZOMVIRUS* immerses players in the real-world setting of Hongdae, one of Korea’s iconic tourist areas.
- Immersive VR Environment
Players experience a heightened sense of realism, as gameplay requires operational precision. Rather than using basic FPS-style controls on PC or mobile, players grip and reload weapons with one or both hands, simulating real handling for enhanced immersion.
- Variety of Korean-Style Weapons
Following the global collapse triggered by the zombie outbreak, the Korean government quickly shut down high-risk zones and supplied survivors with firearms for self-defense, allowing them to use weapons like the M1 carbine, M16, as well as Korean-specific rifles like the K2 and K5.
- Fast and Powerful Korean Zombies
Zombie hosts in *ZOMVIRUS* actively seek out new environments for propagation. These zombies rely on sight and sound, with heightened auditory sensitivity. Players can avoid detection by sight, but any loud noise attracts zombies from all directions. Inspired by Korean zombie portrayals in *Kingdom* and *All of Us Are Dead*, *ZOMVIRUS* features fast, strong Korean zombies.
◎ Development Progress
Since the project’s initiation in May 2024, development has expanded to capture an ultra-realistic experience throughout the Hongdae area in Seoul and beyond. With an early access version in the works, developers are incorporating user feedback from various events to enhance the gaming experience.
◎ Future Plans
Future updates will include bug fixes, optimizations, new scenarios, maps, and potentially a multiplayer mode. Stay tuned for zombie-quarantined cities like Manhattan and Shanghai. Engage with *ZOMVIRUS* through fan pages and feedback boards—your participation aids in reclaiming zombie-infested cities.
