This patch introduces a huge number of changes but unfortunately breaks backward compatibility with old saves. Although old saves may work and can be loaded, there is no way to adjust the existing game to the new setup, and older games will be unbalanced.
I aim to make combat more dynamic and add more build variety to battles. Therefore, I increased the number of units in battle. Players now start with a party of 5 people instead of 3, and the maximum party size is now 8-9 people. Accordingly, all opposing parties have been increased as well.
Starting with this patch, I will work on new crafting recipes (including rings and amulets) which can be found in dungeons. To support this, a completely new map generator for Dungeons has been created. In this patch, dungeons cannot be found in the main game but can be encountered in roguelike mode. Currently, they contain random loot.
I would like to ask you to share your thoughts about the new battle balance )
The list of noticeable changes made:
- Global game rebalance: The starting party is now 5 people, and the rest of the world is scaled up as well.
- New map type introduced - Dungeons: A new battle goal, hide treasures and escape, has been introduced. These dungeons use a completely different map generator and will be the main source of unique items like recipes for rings and amulets.
- War! Now there are pairs of factions at war with each other. A new type of party, Invaders, has been introduced, whose goal is to inflict as much damage to their hostile faction as possible.
- Gaining and losing reputation: Gaining reputation with one faction will lead to a loss of reputation with its hostile faction.
- Faction lands: Each faction now has its own specific territory. Killing enemies of a faction on its lands will increase your reputation with that faction, as well as liberating gathering spots belonging to the faction.
- Faction dynamics: Since it’s not possible to be friendly with all factions (due to losing reputation with the opposing faction), you may need to decide who should survive. Kill villagers, steal their goods, but be cautious of the guards...
- Reworked idea of followers: Only the main character now doesn't require wages. All starting companions will have no wages only for the first week of the game. As the initial tavern quest covers these expenses, it’s not an issue. However, this will lead to members possibly leaving if not paid, except for the main character (previously, the main character and starting companions could not leave due to the absence of wages).
- Bug fixes
Thank you for your continued interest in the game. I hope you enjoy the new features and changes in this patch! I am looking forward to your feedback regarding the new features.
