Thank you for always using gogh.
Through the "My Items" feature added in v4.0.0, many of you have created wonderful, one-of-a-kind works.
Your daily creativity, your willingness to share your work, and your consideration for others are what support the gogh community.
We want to keep valuing the freedom for everyone to express themselves in their own way.
At the same time, we've received feedback from users who suddenly encountered avatars with violent, horror, or sexual expressions in Multi-Rooms, causing anxiety or discomfort and disrupting their focus.
It has also been unclear what users can do when they come across problematic items or behavior.
The same expression can be received differently by different people. Even when the creator or wearer has no ill intent, it may be a strong stimulus for someone else.
Unintentional mismatches like these need to be treated separately from deliberately frightening or harassing others.
To balance the joy of creating with the ability to focus in peace, we plan to implement the following measures.
• Adding content check items when publishing to the Workshop.
When publishing an avatar or avatar item, creators will be able to self-declare whether it contains sensitive expressions (such as mild violence, horror, or sexual content).
• Allowing Multi-Room owners to set entry conditions.
We'll add a setting that restricts entry for avatars using Workshop items declared to contain the expressions above. If entry is denied, the reason will be shown on screen. You'll also be able to filter the search results to find Multi-Rooms with this setting enabled.
• Letting you toggle how other users' paint is displayed.
We'll add a setting that replaces all other users' face paint and body paint with the default appearance, so you can choose the view that feels comfortable for you.
• Strengthening our handling of Workshop reports and our measures against malicious behavior.
We're working on a system that automatically restricts the visibility of items once they receive a certain number of reports. We're also considering stronger penalties for malicious behavior, such as intentional harassment.
Content declarations and display/entry settings are intended to reduce mismatches caused by differences in perception.
They are not meant to treat people who enjoy particular expressions, or their works, as uniformly malicious.
However, expressions and behaviors prohibited by the Community Guidelines remain prohibited regardless of whether they have been declared.
We're sincerely grateful that so many of you enjoy creating while being considerate of those around you.
As the team behind gogh, we won't rely solely on your goodwill. We'll support both the joy of creation and an environment where everyone can focus with peace of mind through the system itself.
We're working to introduce each of these measures as soon as possible.
