The following information on player’s performance is based on estimations made through scaling down projections from the development PC.
Development PC specs:
OS - Windows 11
CPU - 13th Gen Intel(R) Core i7-13700KF
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
Memory - 32 GB
This PC set up, according to Unreal Engine, qualifies for the EPIC level settings when playing an arbitrary UE 5 game, but is considered a High-end PC. So, the following list will be performance expectations for PCs of the general EPIC, HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW specs and their average expected FPS on various performance settings.
To motivate performance values, the FPS has been capped at 60 FPS. This has been done in hopes of creating an equally enjoyable experience for players across PCs; with the ultimate goal of providing a game that is optimized enough where players can play +1 of expected performance settings (HIGH PC on EPIC settings, MEDIUM PC on HIGH settings, etc.).
General EPIC PC specs:
CPU - intel i9-13900K / Ryzen 9 7950X3D
GPU - RTX 4080 / 4090
Memory - 32 - 64
Expected Performance:
60 FPS
General HIGH PC specs:
CPU - intel i7-12700K / Ryzen 7 5800X3D
GPU - RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT
Memory - 8 -16
Expected Performance:
EPIC - 60 (performance mode)
60 FPS for all lower settings.
General MEDIUM PC specs:
CPU - intel i5-12400 / Ryzen 5 5600
GPU - RTX 3060 / RX 6600
Memory - 8 - 16
Expected Performance:
EPIC - N/A (40)
HIGH - 60 (performance mode)
MEDIUM - 60
LOW - 60
General LOW PC specs:
CPU - intel i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 2600
GPU - GTX 1060 / RX 580
Memory - 8 - 16
Expected Performance:
EPIC - N/A (25)
HIGH - N/A (30)
MEDIUM - 60 (performance mode)
LOW - 60
For simplicity’s sake, the FPS is taken through dividing 1000 by the (ms) value of the highest of the two - CPU and GPU - to generate the going FPS. So, for example, CPU clocks 5 ms, GPU clocks 9 ms, then the FPS is given by 1000 / 9 = 111 FPS || NOT 1000 / (9+5) ||.
Further, there is an option for IMAGE QUALITY that can be found in the DISPLAY SETTINGS of the options menu. This is for toggling Anti-Aliasing settings:
PRIMARY has what is called TSR turn ON, image quality will be smoother around the edges, performance should be smoother. But, if you experience glitching or frame dipping, then consider -
SECONDARY, which has what is called FXAA turned ON, image quality will become jagged around the edges, but performance may balance out.
Below that is UPSCALING, which is somewhat self-explanatory and focuses on the screen percentage / resolution, with image reconstruction through what is called FSR.
QUALITY (100%)
BALANCED (75%)
PERFORMANCE (67%)
ULTRA PERFORMANCE (50%)
This document should be used only as a frame of reference for the prospective player. The reality of performance across many different PC set ups will only be made clear as sales continue.
If you decide to play the game, and would like to provide your performance experience, please do so, as continued work on optimization is apparent.
Thank you,
