Patch notes for v.04
- Movement activation no longer checks for visibility to adjacent tiles, player should now always be able to move to a valid space even if the raycast bugs out it might just take two steps.
- Created several achievements in Steam and their cooresponding resources in game. Including art assets.
- Balanced out the base cards. Brought the power levels to be roughly even (as far as I can tell so far) for the given tiers.
- Tier III for Might, Spirit, and Wit all have an in hand effect. Agility has two (because it is associated with both range and move). Wisdom doesn't have one (+Attacks is too powerful).
- Visual changes based on playtester feedback: --Added action type gems to the gear panels. --Added emerald triangles to the map object that can be interacted with. --Got rid of the fancy font and reduced font sizes generally. --Revamped the upgrade screen so instead of two pages for cards there is a single page with all six options (and the base card upgraded from) visible at once with navigable buttons for selection. --Increased the redness of damaged enemy figures. --Increased the base damage of horn bash to 4.
- Now tracking mission and run totals for a bunch of statistics and displaying them on the victory screen. Will tie into achievements and job upgrades.
- Revamped the enemy stat block to be less intrusive. Numbers are smaller, no icons, color coded, and they run along the side of the enemy.
Designer intent for the base card balances:
Three of the level 2 upgrades for the base card types have an in-hand boost. That means so long as the card is in the players hand they have that benefit. One has none, and the other has two in hand effects. The rest of the effects are a mix of bonuses when played and for the remainder of the turn. It is intended that the player will choose one in-hand bonus as core to their build and choose the remainder as in play bonuses. I want the player to have end state builds of (1) level 2 + (4) level 1 as valid as (3) level 2s. Might have to boost the level 1 effects to achieve that later.
