First off... sorry for the wait!
At the beginning of this year, I was not feeling great mentally and being busy with my full-time job I didn't have much time left to work on Rogue Raiders. However, the past few months I've been working hard again. The game has received a huge overhaul with all of the features listed on the steam page complete, plus a few more really nice updates.
I'm really happy that I managed to get online multiplayer working. It makes use of room codes that can be shared with your friends, but you can also choose to make your lobby publicly visible in the server browser. It supports cross-platform play with 1-8 players with drop in/out. You can even have multiple local players join in when playing online even if you join as a client. Online play also does not require you to make an account or signup anywhere. You just launch the game and join a lobby, easy as that.
We also have some big quality of life changes with multiple settings and a trap selector. So, no need to scroll through all of the traps while placing them down. You just open the trap menu and select the trap you want to place. With this there are some new fun additions to the game to mix things up. There is now a way to remove traps from play. In the lobby you can choose what traps should and should not be available in the next raid. You can also choose to have randomized traps. This will give each player a random selection of traps from the pool of available traps. This encourages creativity.
Equipment/Power-ups have also been added. There is now a Hook that can take you up high or over large pits. Dagger lets you kill enemies and if you throw it at a wall, it creates a platform to stand on. Last but not least we got the Wings. These will let you fly across the level. I also have some other equipment in the works, like the Grappler but I will tell you about that one in another post.
New maps have been made. These are not in the Online trailer since they are not ready for online play yet. But these feature a new Survival Mode. Where you have to survive for a set amount of time. These all come with various exciting level hazards. Like the mad scientist castle with its tesla traps and the goblin mines with a lot of dangerous mega bombs.
There are still some things left to fix and some fun extras to add. So, you will have to wait just a little bit more, but I think it will be worth it. I'm really looking forward to showing you all what I've been working on. See you in the next update! //Bonex
