In the shadows of screaming stars and beneath the bootheel of ancient gods, I scratch these words in madness and hope - there must come a being of mercy, made of flesh and steel, who shall save us from the Great Old Ones.
The dreams have turned to screams, and the screams to steam. The blackened veil parts, and what lies behind it is not salvation, but the truth.
You who follow the RailGods, steel your soul and prepare your minds, for now, we shall unveil the story behind RailGods of Hysterra.
From the moment humanity fell to the Great Old Ones, to the secret plans hatched by H.P. Lovecraft and his Dreamers, and finally, to the rise of the RailGod, the secret weapon that will help humanity reclaim Hysterra.
