Hey guys, sorry for the late post here it's just been a busy few days for me!
This month went super well! We BLASTED past Alpha 8, which left us time to hop onto Alpha 9 goals. Alpha 8 was focused on getting the town to the next level, and the new customers to spawn for it. With that done, we can focus back on biomes/fishing for Alpha 9!
Here's the goals for upcoming Alpha 9
Create the biggest biome for the game, the Jungle. This will be the 2nd last biome, we are getting close! (Jungle is already under construction and made good progress, I don't want to show it yet though)
Bait Packs - Make the bait experience more polished, exciting and add in rare bait (We already completed this! You'll see below)
Fishing Traps - Being able to place some traps alongside the water, place a bait and then wait for them to catch something the next day
New fisher stations and some QOL for giving them bait
More wildlife simulation
Improve the look of the fish fighting & parrying so that its more obvious when the fish is fighting visually
Handheld Fish Radar Mechanic - A possible way to locate things like bubbles, relics and other things in the biome
Lures - Look into playing with a new lure mechanic that can let you swap lures with different abilities? We'll have toe experiment and see
Wandering Fisher NPCs - Mysterious fisher NPC's will sometimes spawn in biomes you can talk with, giving random info or cryptic lore
Relics - Make relic mounds, so that you can come across and dig up a relic in biomes besides fishing, hopefully as another way to reward exploration
Lots of small QOL as well!
Huge QOL Bait Opening - Fast Open Button
Rare Bait is now working! Needs balance still
Town lvl 4 - Wealthy Manors move in
Lvl 4 Customers - The Posh class
Town lvl 3 now looks 'under construction' as people rebuild society
New Area of town opens at lvl 4 - New fish to catch!
Mekong Catfish
Ide
Goldfish
Pike
