Dear Vegawon’s Legacy fans,
The team at DWS Interactive is thrilled to share the progress we’ve made this month! October was incredibly productive, and we’ve added numerous new features to our game. Here’s a rundown of what we worked on…
Our Custom Audio System! DWS Sound Engine
One of the biggest highlights this month was developing our very own audio management system. You might be wondering, “Why did we need this?” Well, we realized just how essential music and sound effects are in shaping the experience, so we aimed to make it the best it could be! With this system, we can:
- Play dynamic ambient sounds that adapt to different environments
- Group and professionally edit all sound effects directly in Unity
- Manage unique ambient sounds for each region
- Control character movement sounds in greater detail
- Support external APIs
- …and so much more that we can’t fully describe yet!
This system is not just for Vegawon’s Legacy – it’s designed as a top-tier professional audio tool that we plan to share on the Unity Asset Store, so other developers can benefit from it too!
New Ability: Force Push!
We’ve finally added the long-awaited Force Push ability to the game! With this new skill, you’ll be able to:
- Knock enemies back
- Interact with objects in the environment
- Use it to solve puzzles
- Add a new dimension to your combos
Swimming Mechanic
Our character can now swim! This new mechanic opens up exciting possibilities:
- Explore underwater areas
- Discover hidden locations
- Encounter new types of enemies
- Collect underwater treasures
New Animations and Improvements
- We added an interaction animation for all interactive objects – now you’ll see the character bend down to pick up a weapon from the ground.
- Potions now have a drinking animation, so you’ll see your character pull out and drink a health potion.
- If your character runs at top speed and stops suddenly, a “Run to Stop” animation will play.
Visual Improvements
We’re constantly working on the visual side of the game:
- Completed our new cover design
- Enhanced the realism of grass and wind effects
- Added a new loading screen (you’ll be able to read gameplay tips while you wait!)
- Introduced new region discovery notifications
Weapon Variety
We’ve added new variations for the axe and dagger. Each weapon now has:
- Unique attack animations
- Special abilities
- Visual effects
- Sound effects
Smarter NPCs!
We’ve taken the first steps to make our NPCs smarter. Soon, you’ll encounter:
- More intelligent enemies
- More interactive friendly NPCs
- Dynamic dialogue options
Technical Improvements
We’ve made numerous improvements behind the scenes as well:
- Smoother gameplay performance
- Shorter loading times
- Bug fixes and increased stability
- Improved overall performance
Thank You!
In the words of an old saying from the continent of Vegawon, “A game is only as beautiful as the people who play it.” Thanks to your support and feedback, Vegawon’s Legacy grows more beautiful every day. Thank you for following our journey and joining us on this adventure! 🌟
“May the adventure never end!” Until next month…
