Hello everyone,
My work is nearing its end and the game’s release is getting closer. At the same time, I’m currently preparing a new demo version because the current one is already quite outdated.
What has changed?
I had to rework the sky and cloud system together with the indirect lighting so it runs more optimally
Better day/night transitions
Foliage now requires less performance
Shadows in general are no longer as dark and are softer
Many materials and shaders have been optimized
The dog’s fur has been simplified and now uses less VRAM
Better texture streaming that saves around 10–15% VRAM
Ares can now bark!
Ares now has better close-range night vision
Better pathfinding for companions
More accurate collision detection for the trailer (less getting stuck)
Many small optimizations and bug fixes (especially on weaker systems)
I hope I can release the finished game in the next few weeks. After that I’ll of course continue working on it for a long time.
Until then, take care, look after your pets!
