The Steam Next Fest demo for The Zodiac Mystery is about to go live. Presently, we are standing on what we like to call the “eve of departure.” More clearly than ever before, we can feel the long-awaited first encounter with players drawing closer by the second, like a countdown we can almost hear ticking.
Final Calibration
In these last days and nights before the demo version is uploaded, the studio feels like the inner workings of a finely tuned timepiece: tense yet orderly, every cog turning with purpose, and every movement packed with restrained momentum as we perform our final system-wide check.
The demo chapters are receiving their last round of refinement. This is not merely a sample of the game, but the first impression of the world of The Zodiac Mystery. We have revisited the narrative pacing of the opening locked-room murder again and again, adjusted lighting and sound in the investigation scenes, and polished every transition so that from the instant you step into the studio, you are fully drawn into an atmosphere steeped in added patina and concealed dread.
Meanwhile, we have also been testing and reinforcing our feedback channels. We are eager to listen, ready to hear every observation, every reaction, and every surge of insight that accompanies your first playthrough.
What You Will Experience Firsthand
During our upcoming Steam Next Fest demo, you will be able to directly experience the following core elements:
• A complete case. For the festival, we are making the first three chapters of The Zodiac Mystery available, allowing players to explore a blood-curdling case.
• A full presentation of the core gameplay loop. From crime scene investigation involving observation, collection, and interaction within various settings, to suspect interrogations built on dialogue choices and emotional judgment, and finally to clue association where fragments are assembled in the case journal to form hypotheses, you will experience the complete rhythm of deduction that defines the game.
• A glimpse of multiple possible endings. Even within the limited scope of the demo, you will encounter our randomization system, where the appearance of key clues can vary, sending you down different narrative paths. In this game, truth is never a single straight road.
• A clear audiovisual tone. You will sense the visual style we have carefully crafted, one that blends the delicacy of traditional Chinese aesthetics with a constant undercurrent of suspense, as well as original sound design and music created to mirror every subtle shift in psychological tension.

Our producer once said, “Absolute truth may always lie beyond reach, but the sum of all perspectives chasing its light forms the most magnificent constellation of human nature.” Right now, those words feel less like a reflection and more like a prophecy waiting to be tested.
A diary sealed away for more than two decades is about to be opened on your screen for the very first time. Before long, we look forward to meeting you at the scene where human nature and the fog of mystery intertwine.
