In "The Zodiac Mystery," every character, whether it be truth-seeking detectives or suspects wrapped up in a web of lies, is caught in the complex storm of human nature. The twelve zodiac signs act like invisible threads, tightly binding the destinies of those residing in the Liulitai area of Tianjin. These souls, marked by the stars, are drawn into fate's harrowing game; it is a journey marked by life, death, and redemption on the hazy road to the truth.
The "Mind Probe": Lianshen (Gemini)
Role: Player character — a young police officer in Liulitai, Tianjin
"What is the truth?" "What secrets lie beneath the facade?" Lianshen's quiet thoughts constantly burn like an eternal flame. Gemini's sharp wit and adaptability allow him to navigate complex environments with ease. However, he must tread carefully when overwhelmed with a flood of conflicting clues, or he may lose his way at any moment.
Abyssal Observer: Chief Jiao (Scorpio)
Role: Seasoned officer and archives manager
Faced with an impossibly complicated case, Chief Jiao's gaze doesn't fall on the evidence, but rather into the abyss. "What lies at the edge of life and death?" Scorpio's discernment grants him penetrating insight amidst deception. In a silent standoff with death, he guards the key to the ultimate truth.
Defier of Fate: Jinrong (Leo)
Role: Dance school headmistress
From celebrated debutant to lowly dance hostess, Jinrong swallowed her shame and humiliation, navigating neon shadows to hunt down her own "prey." Finally, she clawed her way to the position of headmistress. Every scar screams out the same truth: "I make my own fate—whoever stands in my way will die!"
Seeker of Freedom: Xiaowen (Aquarius)
Role: Jinrong's daughter
Xiaowen's birth began with tragedy when Jinrong was sold to a dance hall, and her childhood was defined by poverty and separation. Even so, her father's love brought her a sense of warmth—until he died under mysterious circumstances. Upon moving to Tianbao's property with her mother, her innocence was further shattered. Over and over, she asks herself, "Will I ever find freedom in this life?"
A Light in the Dark: Xiaohong (Scorpio)
Role: Dance school student
The abyss has claimed countless souls, but it can't take the light inside Xiaohong. "Stay optimistic. Be strong. Rewrite your destiny!" This stubborn spark, refusing to be snuffed out, becomes her guide through the darkness. She becomes a symbol of hope for others, something to reach out and touch in their darkest moments.
Balancer of Fate: Xiaoping (Libra)
Role: Dance school student
"I never know what choice to make... What should I do?" Libra's instinct for balance becomes Xiaoping's biggest burden. Her constant hesitation and attempts to please everyone around her slowly morph into a blade—one that cuts through her opportunities, dreams, and ultimately, her future.
The stars shift. A murder unfolds.
