hey! it's aeden. this message comes to you in 3 parts.
part 1: things are going... forward.
through perseverance and around 3-7 doctors giving constant (roughly once a week each) attention to me, i am no longer in a negative curve. i'm not worsening - which is good!
but it's still unclear what exactly is happening. maybe i get better. maybe i get worse again. maybe i die. right now things are looking like slow, mostly stable, rehabilitation. i also got some new antidepressants which seem to be working much better - i'm actually able to use exclamation marks in these posts now!
part 2: in which i get sued
i'm working on post-mortem. other than saving and loading (and storing some specific data), which is a feature i always have odles of unfun working on, i could put the first dev version out right now, but it's currently a whole lot of moving around in a field. i've taken a pivot to add at least a little bit of gameplay to it, in form of an inspired fangame if you're generous, and a blatant rip-off if you're not.
wondering what i'm shamelessly stealing from? here's a hint: other than my own lore/direction reasons for adding this game-within-a-game to the DLC, i have a big motive to do so.
this game is from a very old genre, which has changed very little since the early days of gaming, and whose design, in my personal opinion, has not aged as gracefully as others. this game introduces a gameplay mechanic that fits so well with the original genre that i genuinely think it should be the new default gameplay method within that genre from now on, and if it takes me being called a copycat to help normalize it, i'll do it gladly.
it's also a game from a person who has previously demostrated being very happy with their things being used as inspiration! but i couldn't reach out to them personally...
do you have any guesses already? hmm...
of course, i'm not doing this just for that one genre and gameplay mechanic - this all has actual, legitimate reason to be put into the DLC - i just don't wanna spoil much of what post-mortem is about. i still care much more about this game than any of y'all POSERS! everything ends in 0 is still my baby. which reminds me...!
part 3: merch!
...you can now nail my baby to your wall!
i've had a merch store for almost a year now. here's the link! https://findaeden.store
i have been selling merch personally for 1 or 2 more years before that, but i was waiting until i had at least four items from everything ends in 0 for sale before an announcement, so y'all can actually pick something you like, instead of just the 1 choice (which is no choice at all).
there aren't just game screenshots or assets ripped from the files, either. these are full-blown, 100% custom made art with the intention of being merch from the get-go. currently we have 4 Everything Ends In 0 pieces, all of them posters:
can you find all the callbacks and references? i bet you can't! but can you find at least 8 in each one?
they were each developed and iterated on over the course of months and months, with me supervising every detail so that not only everything was lore-accurate, but that we could get the best artwork possible, that fit the character perfectly.
all of them are signed on the back, with some other stuff i also personally write on it. they're all framed in a very modular set-up, so you can swap out pieces if you don't like them or they break or something.
if you're wondering what they look like in real life, here's a picture of a framed one, and a picture of the print style:
posters are $16USD each, plus shipping.
BEWARE:
i am still only a single person running this ship, and i'm still physically disabled. i really care for the quality of my stuff, but sometimes things just don't go over very well - my local print shop can close down, i can be too ill to work on a request for a while, shipping may go nuts, etc. if you decide to order something, please be willing to wait a while, or discuss your order with me. i can discuss exchanging items, refunds, whatever. my contacts are available on the store page. you can also reach out to me through the findaeden community discord, available on the everything ends in 0 steam page.
again, the link is https://findaeden.store !
anyway, hope you're doing well. there are faint light rays amidst the clouds for me.
hope,
aeden universe
