Here we are.
The brand new demo of Hold The Mine is available right now! And unlike the first demo, all the content is unlocked from the start so you can play and experiment with everything.
More Variety More Depth
This update comes with a lot of new content. A new hero, 1 new block type, 2 new synergy types, 8 new buildings, 3 old buildings completely reworked and 12 new relics!
In total, the demo update offers 9 heroes, 12 unique blocks, 35 buildings and 23 relics to play with.
The Necromancer is a brand new hero to find in the mine. She required a lot of work because of the new synergy she's using: Summons! Hope you'll like it.
With 35 buildings, the pool is big enough to offer more build variety. Some old buildings received slight changes when other got fully reworked (check out the Hospital, Ambusher Ground and Harpoon Atelier!).
Oh and most heroes received new powers! I'll let you discover all of them. Only 3 are randomly accessible each run. That's something I want to improve before the game goes out, so you can expect something even more interesting in the futur... like a unique skill tree per hero!
Meteo Events
Meteo Events can happen randomly at any given day and slighly change the way you play both in the mine and during battle. More events are coming into the game to offer even more variety and gameplay twists.
Mine Like Never Before
In this update, there are new ways to explore the mine and reach the resources you want.
Endless Challenges
The Endless Mode is real! Whatever the difficulty you selected before a run, as soon as you win you’ll be able to continue the run and expand your build.
Endless is not really endless thought, at least for now (with a funny surprise if you can make it). This limitation will gradually be pushed back until it eventually (I hope) disappears when the game goes out and becomes more stable.
Challenge Other Players
I know people loved to share their build and stats of their runs and I want to encourage that and offer your more tools. In this update, there is a brand new scoring system and a Leaderboard! You can now see how well you and other players are doing and try to beat their best attempt.
In the futur, the Leaderboard will provide more information regarding the build used, such as the heroes, buildings and relics of the run.
An HD Version already?!
Another change is the upgrade of the game rendering. For some reasons (it was just me), 25% of the visuals of the game were crunched, making our assets highly pixelated. It's a shame it took me a while to realize why. But with this update, the issue is fixed. It is still possible to lower the graphic quality (back to what it was) for those who have performance issue in the settings menu.
And Much More...
This update is packed with so much stuff I cannot cover everything here. We made so many improvements, big and small, over the past few weeks, it feels like a complete new game for me. Overall, our goal was to make the game more fun to play and watch. And it's obviously not the end, the game is far from complete! There are so much things
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this annoucement and I'll see you in the new year for more exciting news regarding Hold The Mine!
