Dear all,
Foresight V1.02 has been released. Please update your copy of Foresight if it's not set to automated update. The buildID is 472293.
Fixes:
=====
- Tooltip description fixed for certain ships
- Fixed a clash of shortcuts for certain ships
- Waypoint arrow pointing issue fixed (triangle sometimes point at the opposite direction)
- Black triangle glitch fixed.
- Fixed a fleet panel reporting bug where the commander repeatedly reports attacking local target even when the target is at a remote location.
- Provided a workaround for "Input not supported" issue. This issue stems from the fact that your monitor may not be able to support resolutions your video card does. We're only able to detect the resolutions of whatever your video card supports. Therefore, instead of picking the best, we'll pick your desktop resolution instead as it's confirmed to be a working resolution.
If the resolution is too low for your liking, feel free to change them in the options. However, it's best to know if that resolution is supported by your monitor or not first. One way is to test it with Windows first before doing so in Foresight.
- Fixed a bug where you can select a ship while looking at an officer's dossier.
- Fixed a few other minor bugs.
Implementations
=============
1) Shipyards, Citadels and Bastions now can have rally points called "Deployment positions" in Foresight.
Select your structure, right-click anywhere to set the point.
Note that if you set the rally point, the default behavior of the ship is now overriden by the rally point movement. (ie, harvesters won't automatically go harvest if you set a rally point on the shipyard it's being built from).
To reset a rally point to default, click on that structure and right-click itself. You'll see a message that the deployment position has been reset.
2) V-sync is now an option under Options > Graphics - check or uncheck to set the option and click on Apply to apply it.
3) Added gameplay option - introduction is no longer being played everytime the game starts (default). You could check it to play the intro everytime it starts. The only exception is the 1st run - the very first time you run Foresight, it'll always play the introduction.
4) Added gameplay option - Double-clicking approves fleet requests. (Default is off). If you think it's faster to double-click to approve a fleet request, just check it and apply.
However, do take note - when you double-click, another identical request can appear straightaway.
5) Multi-selection can now be manipulated in 2 ways.
i) Select a ship type and only that type will remain in the selection
ii) Hold SHIFT and select to deselect a particular ship type from selection.
6) Improved double-clicking selection -
Hold CTRL + double-clicking selects ships of the same type with or without fleet depending on the first ship selected. Ie, if there're 6 gunships, 3 belongs to a fleet, 3 is free, you can select all the free gunships by holding CTRL and double-clicking on one of the free gunships.
You could do likewise to ships in a fleet. Same example, hold CTRL and double-click on one of the gunships in a fleet, it'll select all gunships from the SAME fleet only. Makes it easy to reassign to another fleet or leave the current fleet.
7) Holding ALT key will reveal shortcuts of ALL the possible functions you're seeing on screen. However, we're still not too pleased with how it appears on the buttons - since no matter what colour we used, it'll clash with the icon behind. Therefore, we'll work to see how we can better improve the shortcut display.
8) Caching is now enabled for pre-loading certain assets to reduce "jerking" while doing so. This applies mostly to cutscenes only.
9) Added more hints and tips to give you advise based on certain situations, ie, out of command points, ships' health are getting too low, what can you do with it? Etc etc. In future revisions, these tips will be optional (checked under gameplay options) and will cover more areas.
10) Implemented hangar status updates for ships with hangar. Will post a guide to show you in detail what each status mean.
11) Now every unit/gas/wormhole can be centered upon by clicking on its portrait after being selected.
12) Implemented a fighter/bomber IFF system where you'll be able to track the location of your own fighters and bombers by pressing TAB. This is currently a key-hold toggle. Once you release TAB, the IFF information will be hidden. A quick overview:
Green = Your own fighters
Green bomblet = your own bombers
Light green = Your fleet's fighters
Light green bomblet = your fleet's bombers
Yellow = Allied fighters
Light Blue = Neutral fighters
Red = Enemy fighters
Red Bomblet with a tinge of yellow = Enemy bombers
Will improve this system to include your own commander movements. Might reveal enemy commanders IF scouts are in the area to see them.
