Introduction
It has long known to us that some laptop models may have 2 video cards built into it known as Integrated and Discrete video cards respectively.
In some cases, Foresight is started using the Integrated card and might:
1) Failed to run with a message - "Failed to start render device"
2) Managed to start running but has a lot rendering artifacts, blinking particles, etc etc.
3) Or, managed to start running as per normal but is extremely slow.
Please make sure that Foresight is being selected to run on your Discrete video card instead. This can be found usually in the video card's driver application, ie, AMD Catalyst.
Power saving mode
It's also known to us that sometimes laptops will switch between Discrete and Integrated based on power settings. Ie, with AC power or without AC power.
Such a switch during runtime will cause Foresight to crash.
Therefore, it's recommended to either maintain using the Discrete video card or temporarily disable power settings.
Conclusion
Please feel free to post a discussion topic should you face any problems starting Foresight. We'll be more than happy to assist you.
