Dear all,
Patch V1.06n has been released. Sorry for taking so long. This patch is meant to address bugs and issues encountered recently. As mantis is already back up again, we'll be logging issues more proactively as we encounter them or when there's a feedback.
Build ID: 620031
Fixes
Scenarios:
1) You recruit Commander A and assign him to a ship. Then you create a fleet, then he goes out, fights a battle and dies. Now you receive a message, saying that Commander A is at sector ABC and is available for hire. So, you go back to your command center and look for him. He's there - except that you can't click on the "Recruit" button. Instead, you can move him.
So, naturally, you'll try and the game crashes.
Fix Implemented:
1a) Fixed regression bug that doesn't regard the officer as dead
1b) Fixed messages pertaining to losing commanders you can't hire. P.S. If you're a Captain, you can't hire a Commodore. So you shouldn't be receiving a message telling you Pugalenthi is available for hire when you can't even see him at the sector the game reported.
2) In a multiplayer game - you create a fleet with a commander but realised that you wanted SOMEONE else to be the commander. So, you try to shift the commander out to another ship to disband the fleet. The game crashes.
Fix implemented:
2a) This only affects the SERVER player in a multiplayer game regardless of whether if there's any real human clients joining the game. The reason is simple - when a fleet is disbanded, the object is straightaway invalidated - somehow this was misunderstood when the server tried to send the packet. Data management issues.
3) Fleet View doesn't appear if Fleet is in transition.
As mentioned before, we wanted the fleet view to always appear regardless of transition. This is now in the game. However, there's only 1 problem we've yet to resolve - that is the automatic multi-ship selection updates should the fleet be going through a wormhole in the same sector as you are. Should be resolved by V1.07.
4) A bunch of stability loopholes had been fixed. They might have led to bugs that might have crashed the game in a manner not known to us. Fixing it should improve the stability of the game at the very least.
What's next
Barring any major issues that might pop up, we'll continue to work on V1.07 features - which is quite a few. We'll also look into things like "Full-screen windowed mode" and other options that was raised as a feedback previously.
We'll continue to fix any issues encountered - clearing the mantis bug list; V1.07 will be released latest within 2 weeks (end May).
Thanks again for your support. We're really excited to release V1.07 soon so that everyone can enjoy the new features we'll be bringing into the game!
Regards,
Jeremy
