We’ve just fixed a softlock bug
First of all, we'd like to apologize for the frustrating bugs some players encountered. We recently shared a recap in our Montabi Dev Update, and we've been working hard to identify and fix the most critical issues as quickly as possible.
Here's what we've addressed in this update:
Bug Fixes
Fixed a softlock that could occur when defeating the Final Boss with a multi-hit attack.
Fixed a softlock caused by interactions between fainted units, revives, and movement effects.
Fixed a potential exploit that allowed players to gain Montabi Mastery by abandoning runs very early.
Fixed a visual bug that caused Montabi Mastery progression to continue displaying beyond the maximum level.
Fixed an issue where the Montapedia would not update correctly, causing playable units to appear as unacquired.
Fixed Heating Pad equipment activating while the unit was in reserve.
Fixed an interaction issue between Wasteless and Temporary cards.
UX Improvements
Improved Ascension unlock clarity.
Improved difficulty information during battles, including Ascension modifiers.
Public Testing Beta Branch Is Now Live
We're introducing the public_testing beta branch.
The goal of this branch is to allow players to try major gameplay changes before they are added to the main game. This helps us gather feedback from the community and make adjustments before a full release.
Infinite Combo Improvements
We've received a lot of feedback about infinite combos making higher Ascension levels significantly easier.
To address this, we're testing a new Ascension 1 modifier:
Whenever a player plays a card, that card costs 1 more AP for the rest of the turn.
This modifier is now available in the public_testing beta branch.
We'd love your help testing it and sharing your feedback. Please let us know what you think in our Discord community.
How to Access the Public Testing Branch
Open Montabi in your Steam Library.
Click Properties.
Go to Game Version & Betas.
Select the public_testing branch.
Known Issue
While fixing the softlock bugs, we discovered a new issue:
Visual bug causing enemy intents to remain stuck during the taming phase.
We decided to release these fixes immediately to prevent further softlocks and will address this visual issue in a future patch.
Thank you for all the feedback and bug reports you’ve shared. If you'd like to give more feedback and chat with other Trainers, feel free to join the Montabi Discord!
