Deep in the heart of Mafate, getting a letter all the way to Saint-Denis isn’t exactly what you’d call a simple task.
Fortunately, Elios can count on a rather unusual ally. His name is P3K. More commonly known to the local residents as Papang 3000.
And contrary to what its name might suggest, P3K isn’t exactly a high-tech machine designed to conquer the world. It’s mostly an invention by Clovis. And he’d really like you to know that.
A Machine Like No Other
P3K was designed to maintain the connection between Mafate and the central Post Office in Saint-Denis. Elios entrusts the letters to him, and P3K takes care of the rest.
Well, as much as possible.
Because P3K isn’t just a mailbox; he talks, he thinks, and, above all, he has a personality all his own.
Calm, helpful, and deeply attached to his creator, he does his best to carry out his mission. Even if, sometimes, you get the impression that what he really wants is for someone to tell him just how amazing he is.

Behind P3K, there’s Clovis.
The invention is, above all, the result of his work and imagination. A way of creating a link between the isolated world of Mafate and everything that lies beyond the mountains.
And P3K is particularly proud of that.
Maybe even a little too proud.
After all, if Clovis managed to build a machine capable of talking, transporting letters, and figuring things out on its own… Why is nobody applauding him?
A Valuable Help for Elios
For Elios, P3K is above all a real helping hand.
Being a postman in Mafate already means walking along trails, exploring the surrounding area, and meeting the local residents. Having someone - or rather, something - to handle part of the connection with the outside world is therefore far from useless.
P3K thus becomes a small but essential cog in Mafate’s postal system.
A cog that talks.
A lot.
And Why “Papang 3000”?
Because an invention this important obviously deserves a name worthy of its ambitions.

P3K to those in the know.
The name isn’t really a specific reference. Clovis wanted something that sounded like it came from a science-fiction novel, a name worthy of an invention straight out of the future.
But it also needed to keep a connection to Mafate.
“Papang” is the link to Réunion.
“3000” represents the vision of the future… but also all the iterations, experiments, and ideas that are sometimes needed to arrive at the right invention.
Because innovation doesn’t happen on the first try.
You have to try, start over, modify, and start over again.
Until one day, somewhere in the mountains of Mafate, a Papang 3000 finally comes into existence.
So yes, P3K may be nothing more than a small machine in the middle of the mountains.
But for Clovis, it may already be a small piece of the future.
