Early Access Patch #4 (v0.1.4) provides the option for Rebindable Keys and various fixes and improvements such as Icon support, a menuing fix, better UI updating, a more natural Mynthrian Compass read out, and more! Full patch notes below:
Major Updates:
- Controls are now rebindable using the "Configure Controls" option.
- Added an an "Icon Style" in the "Configure Controls" menu, which lets you swap the icons that display for your controller.
- Supports Xbox, Playstation, and Pro style icons.
- If you're using an 8bitdo, changing the Icon Style to "Pro" will cause the in-game button displays to match your controller.
- Fixed a menuing issue across all menus where, if holding a direction when opening/advancing a menu, the cursor would instantly move one position to a non-default location (often causing a missed input such as "Run" when you want to "Attack" or selecting the wrong spell).
- Fixed a rare potential softlock caused by Mynthria being inaccessible by reasonable standards because the compass was in Mynthria, and the Rose Pendant was in the coordinate location.
- This would result in players having to go to great lengths to access Mynthria such as: counting the coordinates from the top left of the map without the compass, physically bumping into the Invisible Construct, or worse: search every tile on the overworld; all of which a player would never be expected to do to unravel a seed.
- This fix updates the internal randomizer version. Ensure when sharing seeds with others, you've updated to v0.1.4 to get identical item randomizations (though I believe only seeds containing the above quirk will actually be altered).
- The Mynthrian Compass now gives more natural directions (if you know where you're going). It will directly tell you how many tiles to move from your current location (such as 14N, 5E).
Additional Changes:
- Mouse cursor is now disabled when hovering over game screen.
- The game now only considers in-game bound inputs. This fixes an issue with accidentally advancing dialogue when clicking the mouse, using F12 to screenshot, and other such cases.
- Fixed an HP display bug when using lesser/greater heal and mendleaf/greater mendleaf with the Energized talent (similar to the previous Regeneration bug, should be fixed for all cases now).
- Fixed three UI update issues:
- Using the Inn now updates your gold display before you go to sleep (before, it wouldn't update until the menu re-opened your menu)
- Leveling equipment no longer spoils the results of a battle ahead of time.
- Mana Shield now properly updates its MP usage on hit.
- Fixed a bug with the Crescendo ability wouldn't get removed when unequipping the Magic Wand.
- This resulted in the ability to repeatedly swap the Magic Wand, causing a single cast of Magic Bolt to yield hundreds/thousands of % magic damage on next attack.
- (AFAIK there was only one person who figured this out! If you did as well, congrats on being one of the most powerful Mage's in the history of Splintered!)
- Fixed an issue when leveling up at the EXP Trainer, the music would stop after some time.
- Fixed an issue where, if a player experienced a very extreme lag spike, they could "moonwalk" off the map under certain conditions.
