Hi, nice to meet you! We are Moka and Latte, the development team behind Chaos Bringer.
After dedicating a lot of effort, we’re excited to share news about a major update to our combat system.
Movement and Skill Reservation System Overhaul
We’ve revamped the movement and skill reservation systems to eliminate the hassle and stress of controlling movement!
1. Allies Considered Obstacles Based on Context
Previously, allies were always considered non-obstacles, which meant that if an ally blocked another ally’s path, players had to manually reposition them.

To improve this, we’ve updated the system to determine allies as obstacles or non-obstacles based on the situation.
- Allies considered obstacles when:
- Casting a skill
- Standing idle
- Blocking a path for more than 0.1 seconds
- Allies considered non-obstacles when:
- Combat begins
- Moving or movement is reserved
- Just finished an action
2. Real-time Path Updates During Movement
In the old algorithm, optimal paths were calculated only when the movement command was first issued, meaning it didn’t adapt to changes. We’ve enhanced it to increase the points when paths are recalculated:
- When the movement command is issued
- After moving one tile
- When a path is blocked for more than 0.1 seconds
This makes movement more fluid and responsive to changes.
3. Skill Reservation Now Possible for Out-of-Range Targets
Previously, you could only reserve skills for targets within skill range. This forced players to frequently pause combat to reposition, even in scenarios meant for skill "reservation."
Now, you can reserve skills for out-of-range targets.
- In-range targets: Skills are executed immediately.
- Out-of-range targets:
- Automatically calculates the optimal path and destination for the skill.
- Updates the path if the target moves during transit.
- Executes the skill as soon as it comes within range.
No more pausing the game just to handle skill range issues!
Macro and Target Caching Features Added
Eliminate the stress of repetitive actions and focus solely on strategic decisions!
1. Old System: Assign Skills and Targets for Every Ally
Players had to manually select skills and targets for every ally repeatedly.
- Select an ally.
- Click skill → target → skill → target... repeat endlessly.
- Repeat the same process for every ally.

2. Target Caching: No More Manual Target Selection
- Auto-assign logical targets: Targets are cached per hero based on previous choices or logical defaults like the nearest or attacking enemy.
- Execute skills with shortcut keys: Pressing the skill shortcut key again will confirm the cached target and use the skill.
- Select an ally.
- Skill * 2 → Skill * 2 → Skill * 2... repeat.
- Repeat the process for other allies.
No need to manually select targets every time!
3. Macro Feature: Save Custom Skill Cycles
Players naturally develop their own skill cycles as heroes grow. Why not save those cycles for easy reuse in repetitive battles?
The macro feature is designed to help players store and reuse their optimal skill cycles for each character.
- Routine skill rotations: Save basic combat actions like attacks or buffs without repeated setup.
- Logical target assignment: Cache logical targets per hero for seamless execution.
- Emergency control flexibility: Focus only on critical actions like blocking, dodging, or using potions when necessary.
Combat Preparation: Save Skill Cycles Per Class
Macros are saved by class and can be shared across heroes of the same class. Players can create multiple macros to prepare for various battle scenarios.
- Macro creation: Store custom skill cycles as macros in your skill book. Save over 10 skills in a sequence!
- Shortcut assignment: Assign macros to hotkeys for easy execution.
Combat Start: Execute Skills with Macros
With macros, the basic combat process becomes simpler:
- Select an ally.
- Execute macros (e.g., Macro * 2 → Macro * 2 → Macro * 2... repeat).
- Repeat for other allies.
A single macro execution reserves multiple skills and targets seamlessly.
4. Use Tab or Shift+Tab to Select Allies
Quickly cycle through allies using the Tab or Shift+Tab keys. No need to click party lists, maps, or awkwardly stretch for function keys.
