🔧 Update 0.2.5 — Survival Systems Expansion
This update focuses on improving the core survival experience, reducing frustration, and increasing gameplay clarity.
🧭 Navigation & World Awareness
• Added a Minimap System
- Shows player position
- Displays death bag location
- Supports player-built structures
- More map icons coming in future updates
Full 2D Rendered minimap display that follows the player.

• Increased tree spawn rates via RNG world generation
- Improved access to wood
- Reduced early-game grind
• Compass tool has now also been removed.
🎒 Inventory & Storage Overhaul
• Removed weight system entirely
- Now fully slot-based inventory

• Storage upgrades:
- Wooden Crates: 25 slots
- Metal Crates: 35 slots
• Items stack size has also been updated to better fit the new inventory system.
🎒 Death Loot System Improvements
• Players now drop a single backpack on death containing all items from inventory.

Features:
• 30-minute despawn timer
• Mini-Map Icon
Backpack Visibility
Added a world-space UI icon above dropped backpacks
Makes it easier to locate your items from a distance in 3D view
New death will not replace previous backpack.
🦠 Sickness System
Unsafe consumption now causes sickness instead of direct damage
Causes:
• Dirty water
• Rotten meat
Effects:
• Can reduce health total below normal limits
• Stamina drops to 0 briefly
• Green sickness overlay

• Cured with antibiotics

💧 Water Systems
Dirty Water:
• Drinkable from sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers
• Restores thirst but may cause sickness
• Respawns after ~6 in-game hours

Wells (New):


Players can now construct their own water wells to provide a renewable water source for their base.
Once built, players can hold the interact key on the well to drink water directly, restoring thirst.
Wells will consume stored water and slowly replenish over time, preventing unlimited use.
This allows players to establish long-term survival bases in remote areas without relying entirely on indoor water sources.

Respawns after ~6 in-game hours

• Rotten food now causes sickness instead of damage
• Better integration with survival systems

Due to how certain world objects, systems, and placed items are saved, existing saves may continue using older data, which can cause some issues listed in the changelog to appear unfixed.
If you are still experiencing problems after this update, starting a new save file is strongly recommended to ensure all changes are applied correctly.
