Hey all, it has been an incredibly busy week for me, its been great to see Diviner get exposed to a lot more people and also getting a ton of useful feedback. It can sometimes be a bit hard to keep track of every thread so I'm sorry if I wasn't able to reply to everyone about any comments/concerns on the game.
First off, let's talk about the new patch, and what will probably be the last patch for the demo for a bit (barring any fixes for crashes or bugs of course). I originally had planned to move on directly to working on Act 2 only after the playtest was complete, but I think there is still some more work to be done to the game's general experience based of the feedback I've been receiving. But that work will take a bit of time, and I still need to do some prepping for Act 2. along with preparing for some more festivals/marketing events coming up, so I think this patch will leave the demo in a good place with some added quality of life features.
Also, I do want to apologize that this patch is later than expected, I had originally hopped to cap off the recent festival the demo was featured in with this patch release, but due to where I live (its been hot as all hell and we've had a series of rolling blackouts), I was losing power pretty consistently and so working on this patch took a bit longer than it should have.
Patch 1.4 contains the following:
Added a Map that can be accessed with the Tab key / special left button on controller.
Changed Affixes so they now work with all colors, but gain bonuses if you match the color.
Greatly increased the speed and fluidity of UI animations for combat and excavation.
Increased the speed of combat animations and turn speed.
Changed the effect of certain affixes that could easily break the game.
Added Sort by Recent filter to Storage.
Added affix size information to the storage visuals.
Enemy loot is now automatically picked up after combat from all enemies involved.
Added another music track for combat encounters for some variety.
Player can now reach lv 11 on their Tethers.
You can now drop skills directly into tethers in your gear (you can still place them into specific slots in the equipment menu as well)
Did a slight rebalance of enemies and player stats because of the significant increase in power from the affix change.
Fixed a large number of basic bugs and a few crash causes.
Work will continue on Diviner as I get the game ready for Act 2 and for potentially some adjustments to the main gameplay loop, but thank you for all of the the interest you have shown in the game. All of the compliments, intrigue, playthroughs and criticisms are invaluable for helping me improve the game. It might be a bit of time before I can drop another community update as I am really eager to start working on new stuff for Diviner and keep the ball rolling, but until then, stay safe, and hope things are going well for you too!
