Hey everyone! Here's notes on the incoming patch I am working on. I plan and hope to have it out by Oct 4th, but can't be sure yet. I MIGHT push a hotfix tonight which will include all of these items, but would be slightly unstable and need more tweaking.
Bug Fixes
- New game button in the main menu now erases save data without needing to use the delete save button. (delete save button will remain as a fail safe for any bugs/issues that may arise)
- Fixed an issue where certain doors could trap the player when opening/closing
- Fixed an issue where the pushable cart interaction text could stay on screen indefinitely
- Fixed an issue where the brush would no longer spawn on loading the game.
Adjustments, Improvements, and Changes
- Adding a "sparkle" glint to inventory items and notes in the map, removing the blinking glow
- All flavor text interactions are repeatable, save a few which are tied to gameplay events.
- Added more flavor text interactions throughout the mall!
- Offerings and Lit offerings now take 2 inventory slots instead of 6. Further, their effective range covers almost the entire map.
- Removed the glowing outline from Pan Pan (possibly making it a toggle or based on game difficulty in the future)
- Pan Pan is more aggressive and will now run to noises which alert her, offerings, and any hiding spot used.
- Increased Pan Pan's hearing range, field of view, and run speed
- added more set dressing and made some adjustments to lighting
- revise Li Li's walk animation
- Added more animations for Pan Pan, including mouth opening
Plans for future fixes and adjustments
- Additional Costumes for Li Li
- steam achievements
- Expanding the mall map with one medium sized addition or multiple small ones.
- mouse sensitivity slider in options
- adding some kind of Map system
- add more set dressing to help differentiate areas of the mall.
- more subtle scares and jump scares
- adding atmospheric "music" cues during play
- Adding simple VO for Li Li like breathing, grunts, and gasps
- Add "kill cam" style game over screen
- Add some environmental puzzles
- Add additional ghosts and spirits, including some that act as active enemy types.
I am working hard on this patch to make it feel like the game is worth coming back to for those that have played already AND a better experience for those who have not. I plan to have the achievements and unlockable costume in with a revision to the in game map for a larger patch by Halloween as well!
