Hello future webstore mogul
For the last time in 2024, I would like to give you an insight into the current state of development. In the last weeks and months I have worked on many things that don't seem big at first but take a lot of time. I've added the save and load system and am constantly expanding it, which is a rather annoying thing that requires a lot of work and certainly still contains bugs. But I'm quite happy with it for now.
Another very important thing that needs a lot of fine tuning is the algorithm that calculates how many orders a player can and will receive per day. I won't go into too much detail here, but just to give you an overview of what's involved:
Product price
Product variety
Shop rating
Shop page
Time of day
And more.
But now for a few visual things. I have COMPLETELY overhauled the system for processing orders. The old one was too static for me, nothing exciting and it wasn't fun either. The new system is much more interactive in almost every step. You now have to choose the size of the box, sort the products into the box, close the flaps and stick the appropriate shipping label on it. How do you like the new system?
The general design of the computer UI has also been revised, I have now made it much brighter which is hopefully more appealing. I'm still not 100% satisfied, but it should be good for now.
Also new is the level system, which should give the player a further incentive. Various tasks, such as completing orders or packing boxes, earn EXP. As you level up, you unlock new product licences and furniture.
Finally, the most important thing. After many adjustments recently, I am currently preparing everything to be able to (hopefully) present a playable demo of Webstore Mogul in January. I want to finally give you the opportunity to experience the game. The demo will also include almost all content, except for the employee function and not all product categories. Are you looking forward to the demo ?
Then it remains for me to say, happy new year and see you next year in Webstore Mogul!
