Fablelight is Heading to LexPlay – April 8th
This weekend, I’ll be showcasing Fablelight at LexPlay, an indie game event happening right here in Lexington at The Hill.
If you’ve been following the project, this is another big step in shaping the game through real player feedback. Every time I bring Fablelight to an event, something changes, mechanics get refined, ideas get challenged, and new moments emerge that I wouldn’t have found working solo.
LexPlay is especially exciting because it brings together a wide mix of indie developers and players. Some people will be fighting game veterans, others might be picking up a controller for the first time, and honestly, that mix is where Fablelight has been shining the most.
At recent events, I’ve seen:
Players laughing and reacting to the chaos mid-match
Groups forming rivalries after just a few rounds
People asking for more characters and mechanics on the spot
That kind of energy directly feeds back into development.
For this build, I’m continuing to push toward a stronger “real fighting game” feel while keeping the single-player foundation intact. Expect tighter combat, more expressive characters, and a few improvements based on recent playtests.
If you’re attending LexPlay, come find Fablelight, and fight me, then let me know what you think. Whether it’s your first fighting game or you’re deep into the FGC, your feedback genuinely helps shape what this game becomes.
See you there.
