Hi everyone 👋

Development Update

First of all, we want to ensure everyone that development is going smooth and steady and we're aiming at a release around September/October. Truckful came a long way since the last demo and we can confirm that all content including levels, missions, dialogues, cargo types, truck upgrades, characters and their animations is complete. We're now focused on enriching the world with more details and testing cargo behavior to make sure physics are on point.

What's new in the upcoming Playtest?

A final Steam Playtest is expected to launch in August and will feature truckloads of improvements over the recent demo and if you played it during Next Fest, here is all that has been changed:

Level Design

We improved overall navigation through the countryside, played with new routes, shortcuts and got rid off some itchy blockades that made driving, turning around and going up/down the hill more fluid.

Added Collectibles

Truckful will feature lots of different collectibles to find and while we can't yet disclose most of them, here is the example of a pop-up screen informing players about found pieces 👇

Psst! I negotiated with our team like a pro and got them to share the spy-pigeon 🕊️

Improved UI Design

We improved all the interface elements you see on the main gameplay screen, packing view and in the garage, while doing upgrades and customisations. Truckful also got lots of introductory and tutorial pop-ups, alongside a full fledged notebook and map to help players navigate through missions and roads better.

Speedometer also got a nice little update as it features a water level detector - quite useful while traversing watery surfaces like ponds, puddles or swamps. You will also need a Snorkle Upgrade for deep waters.

Dialogue Windows

We redesigned pretty basic initial dialogue windows and came up with much clearer and better looking box. Font is also changed to make reading easier on the eyes, together with an updated text speed-up.

How it looked before?

And how it looks now - we're very curious to hear your opinions on the new design!

New, animated character cutouts

To bring more life into our lovely bunch of characters, we're happy to share that each model will be animated. Here is one of the examples - the Police Chief with a ice cold 80s-like visor! 😎

New packing view

We wanted to put more emphasis on the cargo itself and also better inform players about controls (show on the right side). You can now see the full vertical/horizontal grid and place the cargo wherever you want much easier.
