Hey folks!
We’re timing this announcement for Day 1 of Melbourne International Games Week (Oct 1)—our favourite week of the year. MIGW is a blast: the whole city buzzes with playtests, panels, and late-night dev chats. Melbourne has shaped The Voxel Agents from day one—its festivals, meetups, and generous community helped us grow from a tiny local team into the studio behind The Gardens Between. So it feels perfect to celebrate our roots, a fresh update, and our first major discount together during the Steam MIGW event.

Today’s Update — polish, comfort & feel
We’ve been listening closely and tuning the experience across visuals, comfort, interaction and performance:
Visuals & world feel
New “infinite ocean” in Garden view for a more convincing dreamlike place
Gentler garden transitions with background fade + subtle sky motion
Lightened intro colouring; improved colour grading across the game
Rainy window now appears in the lounge gardens to set the scene
Telescope garden puzzles adjusted based on feedback
Comfort, Performance & Feel
Foveation settings on Steam + broad performance gains for smoother, more stable play.
Tighter physics & interactions—objects behave reliably and tricky sets are easier to use.
More tactile feedback—two-hand painting with precise collision and hover haptics.
Why buy during MIGW?
It’s our first-ever discount on Steam, making this the perfect moment to jump in. You’re getting a complete, polished story you can finish at your own pace—most players and reviewers report anywhere from 3–4 hours to around 8 hours, depending on how thoroughly you explore.
Beyond the price, Hidden Memories shines because of its unique, tactile puzzles—40 new VR-first interactions that make turning back time feel truly hands-on. It’s also accessible and comfortable: play seated or standing, with controllers or one-handed hand-tracking. The result is a gentle, thoughtful journey about friendship, memories, and change. If you enjoy A Fisherman’s Tale, The Room VR, or cozy puzzlers you can finish in a weekend, this one’s for you.
How you can help (and get the most out of it)
Grab it during the MIGW Steam event and start with the first island—no tutorials to read, just play.
Leave a short review if you enjoy it—your words genuinely help others commit.
Wishlist if you’re not ready today—wishlists boost visibility during this round.
Thank you for playing, sharing, and cheering us on. We’ve poured a lot into making Hidden Memories feel made for VR, and we can’t wait to hear what you think of the update.
