Dear Players,
After the elegant refinement of Wei's scholar Xun Yu, this dev log turns the spotlight to a very different kind of fighter — one who strikes fear into the hearts of all who face him.
Today, we're sharing the model development process for Lu Bu, the warrior known as "The Greatest Fighter Among Men."

【Peerless Warrior, Wild and Domineering】
When people think of Lu Bu, they picture an unstoppable force — a war god who swept through battlefields without equal. How do you capture that overwhelming pressure and explosive power in a fighting game? Our answer was to dress him in heavy black and gold battle armor, paired with his iconic magnificent feather plumes, carving out a wild and devastatingly destructive presence on the arena floor.
【Costume & Details: Defining the War God's Martial Presence】
For his color palette and materials, we started with a dark iron base, layered with dark gold patterns and beast-face decorations throughout. From the design sheets, you'll notice his vivid red pheasant feathers — a striking visual centerpiece — and a wild beast fur collar around his neck. The rugged red rope at his waist and the gold thread beast pattern totems on his battle skirt further reinforce the raw aggression and domineering visual tension of this peerless warrior.

【Combat Stance: Equipment and Weapon Design】
A warrior of Lu Bu's caliber fights with pure power and destruction. For his combat stance, we equipped him with his iconic Sky Piercer Halberd, wielded with both hands. Through movement simulation, the team repeatedly refined his strike posture — ensuring smooth movement beneath his heavy armor, the dramatic flowing trail of his tall feather plumes as the weapon swings, and the sense that every strike could move mountains and sweep through thousands. All of this was built to deliver the ultimate impact that a fighting game demands.

【3D Sculpting: Bringing the Model to Life】
In the 3D high-poly sculpting phase, the team focused on the beast-face relief sculpting across his metal armor, the realistic layering of his wild fur collar, and the sharp structure of the beast-head guard and blade of the Sky Piercer Halberd. Every piece of sculpted data and layered material was crafted to ensure that this Three Kingdoms war god arrives on the arena floor with the full weight of his overwhelming presence.

We hope this look at a very different fighter gives you a feel for the variety in our character roster! Stay tuned to Kingdom Heroes: Arena — see you in the next dev log!
