Thanks to the quick python work of our NASA software engineer Ryan (no, really, he actually is), we were able to get an alternate public IP address system up and running in less than 24 hours from launch! People who have gotten stuck in the menus waiting for 'Online components to initialize' should no longer have that problem!
This should be a better solution for people who were spending too much time waiting for the first public IP address system to succeed (the source of that problem). Coupled with the first hotfix, we think this should make a pretty marked improvement on establishing and maintaining good network connections.
However, we are still aware of a few more tricky connection initiation problems, and those are being looked at next.
