It's been just over a month since Elite Exorcist Miko entered Early Access, and once again, thank you for playing! There have been several updates since then, including the addition of Easy Mode and various balancing changes. Behind all that though, we've been hard at work cooking up content for the upcoming Makai Stage, or Stage 3B! Not only will this update include 4 new bosses to battle, on par with those in Medieval Stage, but it'll also come with 13 new equipment items to open up even more ways to play! We're hoping to have this update ready sometime in April. Here's a rough breakdown of the progress so far:
- Equipment Items: DONE! All new items have been implemented and are fully functional!
- Stage: Background and enemy art in progress
- Bosses: Art and dialogue in progress
- Music: Pending
Minor balance and bug fix updates will continue to be released in the interim. I want to do my best to not break existing strategies, so don't expect too many huge changes to existing bosses and equipment. Some notes on specific items:
- Lightning Streamers: I'm well aware of the strategy of building up maximum charges to deal damage high enough to clear Phases in an instant. While I've received some suggestions to nerf this item, I've decided for the time being to keep it as is, as I think the time needed to use this strategy is enough of a counterbalance. There will also be items to be added in the future that encourage more frequent use of Heavy Attacks.
- Whiteout Blizzard / Thousand Flames: When used together with certain items, these Scrolls can trivialize Shrine Sweep far into the hundreds of waves. Whiteout Blizzard's boost from Retro Gamepad or Heat Treatment is also disproportionately big in comparison to boosts for other items. These will receive some nerfs in a future update, but not in ways that will impact their viability too much in regular play outside of Shrine Sweep. The current plan is to dynamically decrease their effectiveness as enemy count increases.
As always, feel free to leave any feedback and suggestions you have in reviews or discussions, it helps out a lot! I'll do my best to read everything, even if in languages other than English!
As an aside, I'm looking forward to 6th fes.! Wonder what kind of flip Korone'll pull off this year 🤔
