Since launching Art Shop Simulator, I’ve received amazing feedback, and I truly appreciate all your support! However, I’ve noticed some common questions and misunderstandings about how the game works. To help you get the best experience, I’ve put together this Q&A and Tips & Tricks guide. Future updates will also include better in-game explanations, but for now, let’s clear things up!
Q&A – Your Questions Answered
Q: My customers think everything is too expensive, but I priced it based on market value.
A: Art is worth what people are willing to pay! In the early game, don’t focus too much on market value—pay attention to the daily market trend report sent via in-game email. Your reputation attracts wealthier customers, so as you grow, you can increase prices.
Q: Then why does art have a market value?
A: This feature will become more important in future updates when you can host award ceremonies and sell art to competitor shops. For now, you can ignore it.
Q: I’m bad at drawing—can I just buy and sell art instead?
A: The game encourages creating your own art early on, but if drawing isn’t your thing, you can import images and sell them. Later, you’ll unlock the ability to buy and resell art. Customers also sometimes bring in hidden art—but be careful, some pieces may not be worth it!
Q: I keep going bankrupt! What am I doing wrong?
A: You’re likely pricing too low. If no customers complain about high prices, you’re probably underpricing. Ideally, 10-15% of customers should think your prices are too high—this means you’ve found the sweet spot!
Q: What does the Twitch integration do?
A: If you connect Twitch, your viewers will visit your store! They might buy art or even sell their own pieces to you.
Q: What do pets do?
A: Pets help keep your shop clean and will gain more abilities in future updates, assisting alongside employees.
Q: Why is my pet so slow?
A: Interact with your pet to boost its speed. The boost lasts for 4 in-game hours before you need to interact again. Pets need love!
Q: Can I hire employees?
A: Yes! Employees currently help with taking payments, and in future updates, they will also negotiate sales, serve drinks, and even create art.
Q: How do auctions work?
- A: Once you’ve expanded your shop with an event hall, you can host auctions. Auctions must be started before 15:00, or you’ll need to wait until the next day. To begin:
- Place art on the easel inside the event room.
- Set a minimum bid before starting.
- Move to the pedestal to begin the auction.
- Sit back and watch the bidding war unfold!
Q: After loading my save, I see art in my office.
A: This happens if you saved while customers were holding art. When you reload, the customers aren’t there, so the art drops to the ground and are moved to the office area.
Q: Is there autosave?
A: Yes, the game autosaves at the end of each day.
Q: Is there a roadmap?
A: Yes! Check out the roadmap here: Q: I found a bug—how do I report it?
A: Join our Discord and report any bugs you find! I’m constantly updating the game, so your feedback is incredibly helpful. You can join here: https://discord.gg/bVNEytdpR3
Tips & Tricks for a Better Start
- Check your emails daily – Market trends change, and the daily report helps you price art correctly.
- Experiment with pricing – If no one complains, you’re probably selling too cheap. Aim for some pushback from customers.
- Use ALT for free placement – Holding LEFT ALT lets you place items without snapping to the grid.
- Don’t forget about hidden art – Sometimes customers bring in mystery pieces—some are valuable, others not. Take risks wisely!
- Interact with pets often – They help keep the shop clean and will have more functions in future updates.
This is just the beginning for Art Shop Simulator! More updates are coming, and I’m listening to all your feedback. Keep sharing your thoughts in Discord, and let’s make this the best art shop experience together!
Happy painting and selling!
