Today was supposed to be the day. March 6th, 18:00 CET - the moment Art Shop Simulator would finally be in your hands. I’ve poured my heart into this game, worked tirelessly to make it something special, and I was so ready to celebrate this milestone with all of you. But now, I have to share some really disheartening news.
For the past weeks, I’ve been in constant dialogue with Valve, waiting for the game to be reviewed and approved for release. The build was submitted on February 23rd, and yet, as of today, it still hasn’t been checked. I’ve asked for an estimate, but Valve has told me they simply don’t know when they’ll get to it. This means I have no choice but to delay the launch - possibly for a few days, maybe even weeks - until they finally give the green light.
I can’t even begin to explain how frustrating and heartbreaking this is. I’ve held off on saying anything because every day, I’ve woken up thinking, Maybe today’s the day; only to end up waiting again. I didn’t want to disappoint you, and honestly, I didn’t want to face the reality that this might happen. But here we are.
I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear, and trust me, it hurts me more than I can say. But I want to make something good out of this setback. Since I had already planned to spend the next days on bug fixes, I’ll use this time to add a little extra polish - and even a few more pets - to the game. It won’t erase the disappointment, but I hope it’ll bring a small silver lining.
Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and most of all, your support. This delay doesn’t change the fact that Art Shop Simulator is coming, and when it does, I promise it will be worth the wait. And I promise you I will keep you guys updated as soon as I get new information, my mission is to get this game out ASAP!
