Happy New Year!
REGARDING THE UPDATE DELAYS:
A lot has happened since the release, and I want to sincerely apologize for the long silence and lack of updates. After release, I had to deal with several serious personal issues. As the lead developer, this unfortunately caused development to slow down significantly, and at some point it was almost completely paused. I understand how frustrating this must have been for you, and I’m truly sorry for that. The good news is that everything has now been sorted out. I’m fully back, motivated, and ready to focus on development again. Work on the next major update has resumed, and I’ll be doing my best to deliver it as soon as possible.
We also took time to properly set up the workflow for new members of the development team, who will help push EXPEDITION TO THE BACKROOMS forward. Please welcome our new developers: Abstract and Risensy!
REGARDING FUTURE OF THE GAME IN GENERAL:
First, I imagined EXPEDITION TO THE BACKROOMS as a CO-OP WALKING SIMULATOR, with a bit of puzzles and entities, but hearing your feedback, I am planning on adding more gameplay. It will still contain walking around and exploring stuff, but there will be much more gameplay to not get bored, and have fun with friends! I am planning to release BIG UPDATES EVERY 3–4 MONTHS. I have heard feedback about how the game feels now, and a lot said that it is very short compared to the DEMO version, so the next update is expected to DOUBLE or even TRIPLE playtime and fun! This will be achieved by adding two HUGE new locations, interesting entities and, finally, MORE PUZZLES!
What to expect in next update:
TWO NEW LEVEL WITH SUBLEVELS
FULL CHARACTER REWORK
INVENTORY SYSTEM
SAVE SYSTEM
NEW PUZZLES
SANITY SYSTEM
ENTITY REWORK
REAL VOICE ACTORS
ULTRA WIDE MONITORS SUPPORT
DISCORD INTEGRATION
OPTIMIZATIONS
BUGFIXES
