Hey everyone,
With Daimyo Reign recently in the June next fest there has been a second wave of great feedback to parse through. There were also some people who uploaded gameplay videos, which are nice because they show real time vibes and hidden pain points that add context to the written feedback. Big thanks!
The updates below address various things but I would say they, broadly, improve visibility into what is happening and change besieging behavior to reduce micromanagement.
Rebels

Temples will +/- 1 to unrest actions based on level.
For example with a lv3 temple, calming rebels is 10 gold for -13 unrest (more effective) and funding rebels is 10 gold for +7 unrest (less effective)
Added little markers on the unrest slider UI to show the different limits and what they mean
Rebel Army units will spawn in formation at full strength so they are stronger
Simplified the "Rebellion Notice" icons that indicate if a territory defected (solid vs striped above)
Moved unrest action buttons lower and made them smaller to de-emphasize them
Removed flashing rebellion warnings if you are under 4 territories since you can't have a rebellion
Territories

Simplified Territory Summary UI
removed gold and replaced it with a 'castle level' icon
removed unrest and replaced it with face icons based on level checkpoints
added icon and progress bar for build state
added icon and progress bar for recruit state
Added tooltips to the next/prev arrows to show the hotkey associated
Sieges
Extra allied armies on a besieged territory will stay to help for the entire siege instead of redirecting after 5 days
Armies of the same faction on a territory can continue a siege if the besieging army dies
This should help complete a siege if a bunch of your armies are on the territory
Non-Defensive AI will NOT emergency recruit an army against the player
Defensive AI will emergency recruit an army LESS against the player
Made sure "siege" was spelled right everywhere

Armies
Added some more specific army states
Added how many days an army will be "waiting" or "besieging" to the army state tooltip
Rearranged army flag components to show faction, type, and level more clearly
Selection

Drag select now looks for Army flags so you can bulk pre-command new armies getting recruited
Besieging armies are excluded from multi-select so you don't accidentally select/move them and break the siege
Fixed multi-select UI showing the wrong unit type for recruiting armies
Added notes about controls and hotkey shortcuts in the tutorial
Set the camera to zoom out to all factions when starting the demo instead of just Shimazu
UI
Added a phantom Ally UI to show you don't have one
Faction effect icons now have color
Updated starting difficulty formula to be more accurate
Made it so the retrain button goes away when you don't have enough gold
Removed button outlines for recruitable units if you don't have enough money
Removed UI outlines for non-lead units in an army
Fixed a flickering bug in the army UI
Fixed a bug where faction action buttons were not getting set correctly with player gold
Fixed Japanese translations for some territories and factions
