I'm excited to announce the first public HYPERFIGHT 2 Playtest will begin on Wednesday, April 30 at 9pm PDT! Planning to run it for around 4 days. Signups will be live and open to anyone on the Steam page when the playtest starts!
Online and Local VS will be available with playable characters Shoto Goto and Vince Volt.
This test is mainly focused on gathering feedback for both the gameplay and netcode, so a good amount of features will be missing or incomplete. (Also why I won't be advertising it as heavily as future playtests.) Expect things to break! but hopefully you'll have fun!
If you can't make this one, don't worry - I'm planning for more frequent playtests from now on to get the community involved. Consider this one a test run!
Also, I've decided to start a Patreon for anyone interested in supporting development of the game. This project has grown to become rather large and expensive, so any little bit helps! Funds will go directly towards the game in ways such as contract work, marketing or in-person showcases.
I'll be attempting to post member-exclusive monthly updates, but I think the bigger draw is you'll get the game on release + your name in the credits if you contribute around the final game price ($15) so it might be worth it if you're planning to get the game already!
By the way, all playtests will always be open to anyone to gather feedback from a wider group of people, so don't worry if you can't subscribe!
Lastly, I'll be exhibiting the game at Combo Breaker in late May. Be sure to stop by the booth if you're attending - I'll have the latest build of the game + some goodies to give out!
Thanks for reading!
