As the year winds down, this update introduces new features and refinements while setting the stage for a grander journey in 2025. With beyond.frontiers expanding steadily, this patch marks the final major content update for 2024. The next three updates will focus on adding more sector content and resolving minor issues to prepare the galaxy for our first major 2025 update: Missions.
New Features
Derelict Ships:
Spot abandoned ships drifting in the void, waiting to be claimed. These vessels, while damaged and unequipped, can serve as powerful upgrades for players willing to invest in repairs. Use your Range Scanner or sharp eyes to uncover these hidden gems.
New Sectors with Rich Content:
Signal II: A desolate battlefield scarred by a long-forgotten war, filled with danger and mystery.
Denshi: Foggy and enigmatic, the outskirts of Denshi challenge even the most seasoned pilots.
Zarif: A pitch-black sector where the absence of light hides both treasures and threats.
Space Thunderstorms:
Dynamic and visually stunning, these space weather phenomena bring both beauty and peril to your journey. Tread—or fly—carefully.
Changes
Condor Balancing:
The Condor received minor adjustments for smoother handling and gameplay balance.
Ping Signature Tweaks:
Removed Level 0 ping signatures like empty asteroids and debris, streamlining the scanning experience to highlight meaningful discoveries.
Audio Enhancements:
Improved various sound effects for a more immersive and polished experience.
Fixes
Condor NPC Orientation:
NPCs piloting the Condor no longer fly it sideways. They’ve learned the concept of "up," finally.
